Description

Muscle cars are about attitude as well as speed. All the ingredients that go into shaping that attitude - not only the drivetrain, but also the color of the paint, the angle of the stance, the badging, the interior, the gauges - are more than just boxes to be checked. They all play a major part in the feeling a muscle car evokes when you first set eyes on it, when you get behind the wheel . . . even when you look at it admiringly as it sits in your garage. This 1968 Chevy Nova II has you covered on all accounts. It's a fine combination of road-ready power and flashy appearance, refined with an attention to finishing touches you'll appreciate all the more from up close.
This Nova's bright metallic blue paint with broad silver stripes on the hood and trunk gives it just the look you'd want from its muscle car species. It certainly catches your eye right away, but it also keeps your attention as it has a certain gravity to it that makes you nod your head in approval. Get a little closer and you'll see that the chrome playing counterpart to all that metallic blueness - the front and rear marker light bezels, the bezel surrounding the engine ID badge at the front of the fenders, the rear emblems, etc. - has been methodically replaced. The freshness of the black grille makes the chrome "SS" Super Sport lettering almost jump out at you. It's got an aggressive, inclined stance that proclaims this is a Nova that means business. The attention to detail carries over to the fit, as well, and you'll see that the hood, trunk and door gaps all appear nice and uniform and everything sits flush.
Look inside and you'll see this is an interior you'd want surrounding you. Fresh black vinyl bucket seats in front, matched by an equally fresh and restored rear bench seat clothed in matching vinyl. The carpet retains an obvious newness - it doesn't seem like many passengers have set foot on it. On each side, the door panels show that same newness and shine, as does the dash pad in front and the headliner above. Peering through the Chevy Comfort Grip steering wheel, you'll notice that an Autogauge tach is there to monitor revs and just to its right, added oil pressure and temp gauges sit at the ready to perform their functions. A Kenwood AM/FM/CD unit has been added, with aftermarket speakers mounted fore and aft. It's got Bluetooth capability so there's literally almost no end to the music that will be at your disposal. The B&M ratchet shifter may be aftermarket but it looks right at home in front of the bucket seats. The factory A/C is a nice extra and it enhances this Nova's all-weather drivability.
There's still no doubt that power is a front burner priority on a muscle car and it hasn't been overlooked here. A 1999 Vortec 350 V8, with its 4-bolt main, sits ready to do your bidding and it's outfitted with an Edebrock 4-barrel carb and aluminum intake and spiced up by a Trick Flow air cleaner. This is a powerful but dependable powerplant, so you'll have no qualms about heading out on adventures whenever you choose, and its bolted to a Turbo 350 3 speed Automatic transmission with the same anvil-like reputation. The engine breathes out through a set of Headman long tube headers and into dual exhausts, and it's got a nice, deep, throaty sound to it. An impressive number of other new components figure into the mix for increased dependability, including new brakes, a new starter, new upper and lower ball joints, as well as a new gas tank and sending unit. A spec sheet is on hand to document all this work. The Nova's aggressive stance is backed up by Chevy rims that, though stock in appearance, are wrapped in 165 series tires up front and 245s in the back for serious asphalt gripping.
Done up right like this, Novas are the epitome of what muscle cars are about and this '68 represents a chance to own one that's got both the look and exhilarating feel synonymous with the term. Call today!
