Description

Up for auction is this rare and desirable 69 Camaro convertible!! This is a early Norwood built car pre-x-code! Factory 350V8 car with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, power steering, manual drum brakes and a 12 bolt rear end with multi leaf springs, original Garnet red car with black deluxe interior! That being said she has been around the block a few times!! lol! The car has a healthy 350 non numbers matching and what could be the original trann, but never checked the numbers. The original 12blt rear end and multi leafs are intact. The car runs and drives great! The front end has been rebuilt as well as the brake system . Just had new 2 1/2inch exhaust installed with 40 series Flowmaster mufflers. Now onto the body! The car has what appears to be all the original sheet metal. That being said first generation Camaro's as everyone know are known for there inherent rust issue, specially the convertibles. This one has not fared too bad over the years. Is it a one owner unicorn stored in a garage for 45+ years ? The answer would be no. This car has however always been a driver and has never been blown apart or wrecked. It does have some rust as pictured in the lower drivers rear quarter panel, front and rear lower corners on the drivers door, lower front drivers fender as well as inner rocker panels. The floors are solid as well as the trunk pan and rear frame rails. The dash, windshield fram, rear valance, tail pan, trunk lid, passenger quarter panel, passenger door, hood ect all solid from what i can see with out sanding it down or media blasting it. I have owned dozens of first generation Camaro's as well as a hand full of convertibles. This car is not only very fixabl, but a lot of the original sheet metal can be retained. We had plans to have the sheet metal repaired and re-paint the car as well as new interior and so on but we currently have too many irons in the fire. The car is a excellent candidate for a SS350 clone/tribute with the options. The car really runs and drives good. It does need to be restored sooner then later but is in presentable condition for a driver.Has all the original cocktail shakers. Also the car has sub frame connectors so it drives really straight. The previous owner purchased it for his wedding and wedding pictures. Since that time a few more scratches and dings happened being stored in a tight garage. As you can see in the pics the car has ralley wheels with 67 disc brake caps and new tires. The top is in great shape with no tears or rips. It is manual. The interior is all there. Still has the original deluxe door panels and rear seat cover. The front seats were re-covered at one time with what looks to be standard covers of some sort? The console is all intact. Everything works on the car! Heater, wipers, neutral safety, stereo turn signal, brake lights and so on. You can jump in this car and it's a turn key cruiser!!
