Description

This 1972 Chevrolet C10 may have been part of the second generation of C10s, but it was part of the first generation of any Chevy trucks to be outfitted with the comfort and convenience features to elevate it beyond the status of merely dependable work vehicle. Nevertheless, the blue bowtie folks likely couldn't have foreseen how some vision and craftsmanship would combine to result in a custom truck as inspired as this one is.
Shortbeds like this C10 have a sturdiness about them that confers strength and road-readiness - the notion that they're intended as drivers and not just conversation pieces. With its very well-applied two-tone paint job - transitioning from white to a darker pearl shade across the top of its hood and top of its cab - there's no doubt this C10 will stand out in a crowd, and in a good way. Up front, a custom grille combines with headlight bezels that have been whited out to create a great effect. Once the restoration was completed, it looks like everything was put back together with care, as evidenced by the alignment of the body panels - nice clean gaps and hood and doors that open and shut smoothly. The chrome also presents well here, with clean badging and front and back bumpers that appear table straight and show no obvious dings or damage.
There's a seriously cool interior waiting for you inside. Combining cloth and vinyl, the upholstery features a houndstooth check pattern on the bench seat and matching door panels, with both showing very minimal wear and no discoloration. We like to see ideas that look as good in real life as they do on the drawing board and that's just what we have here. The dash area has obviously received a lot of attention - it's an expanse of very clean steel from side to side, and the contrast of the darker shade on the instrument cluster looks great. Inside that cluster sits a set of Dakota Digital gauges whose red illumination makes for very easing reading in nighttime conditions. Just to the side, you'll notice a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo system that also features Bluetooth and iPod connectivity. It's installed so seamlessly in the center of the dash that it looks for all the world like it came as standard equipment and, with all those audio options, you won't be running out of music to drive by any time soon. In back, the bed is in very nice condition, showing no obvious dings and coated in a sturdy dark liner.
Raise that scooped two-tone hood and you'll find a Chevy 350 V8 inside the very clean engine compartment. Outfitted with an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carb, it's running smoothly, is sporting a new seal kit and sings out a great-sounding deep exhaust note through a set of long tube headers. Another reminder of this truck's roadworthiness presents itself just in front of the engine - an amply-sized radiator combines with a set of fans to keep your engine temperature in check, no matter how challenging the driving conditions you encounter. With power steering and power brakes - discs in front - navigating and stopping will be an easy proposition, too. This great looking custom truck has a great stance - appropriately low while still allowing for tire clearance - and sits on a set of 18" American Racing polished aluminum rims featuring Shelby knockoffs, and wrapped in Kumho Solus radials.
