This is my first "Barn Find". Normally my vehicles are in excellent condition. And secondly, I am selling this car on consignment. The sale will go through my dealership, but I just wanted you to know that I am selling it for a friend. It does not change the fact that as always, I will give you an honest description and help in all phases of this sale. My friend Joy's husband passed away about 20 years ago. He acquired the car from his Dad who purchased the car, brand new, in New Kensington Pa. The car sat most of the last 20 years of his life. After he passed, his son kept the car in the garage but didn't use it much. Just stretching it out once in a while to keep it in good shape. You can see on the Pa. inspection sticker and the odometer, that he only drove it a couple hundred miles during that last inspection period 10/76 to 10/77.

Although Joy had the opportunity to sell the car on numerous occasions, she just didn't want to give up that connection to her husband and father in law. They loved and took care of the car, and those are good memories. But it is time to move on and sell the car.

I have sold just over 1,000 "specialty cars" in my 26 years as a dealer. That, coupled with my Ebay experience, made me the right guy to help her find a good home for THE OLD RED CHEVY. Plus, I can handle all the logistics from payments to shipping. I will open this sale up to out of country buyers since I have experience selling across the Globe.

The description is easy on this one. What you see is what you get. I did not try to bring it back to running status. I can't say how it runs or drives. I am not sure if the motor is stuck or not. To the best of our knowledge, the motor is original and the car ran into the garage. The tires are all flat. Part of the exhaust is on the ground. Please don't expect to come with a battery and an air tank and think you can drive it home. I have the number of a local towing company that is right up the road. They may be able to help to get it out of the garage, but part of this sale will be your responsibility to get it out and shipped. The garage was damp, thus everything underneath is crusty.

THE GOOD!

THE CAR IS STRAIGHT! THERE ARE NO RUST HOLES THAT I CAN FIND. Aside from some road rash behind the front wheels at the bottom(see pics), the car really is surprisingly straight. It is also COMPLETE! It is missing only a couple wheel covers and the air cleaner. They may be in the garage and if we find them they will be included. THE TRIM IS GREAT! Although somewhat crusty, the chrome is all there and straight. Great chrome for restoration. The fenders, quarters, door jambs, trunk floor and trunk wells are all excellent for a refinish. The interior still has the original seat covers. Aside from a rip at the seam on the passenger side, they are pretty decent. A good cleaning or replacement would be in order. The headliner is still up. The steering wheel is in nice shape. The glass is good as well as the window trim.

All in all, a really cool find. I can see this car lowered with some cool wheels cruising to the D.Q. First time offered for sale since 1957!
