Up for Sale is my 1989 Chevy Cavalier. I have owned this car since 2005. In the time of my ownership, I have had many things done to maintain its reliable driving status. They are listed below:-The engine was completely rebuilt by a NAPA machine shop here in Indiana.-Transmission serviced with new filter and fluids.-New wheel rear bearings-Front and Rear Break pads, calipers, and rotors/drums.-New fuel pump-New fuel tank-New a/c pump, accumulator and condenser. (System needs charged)-New magnaflow Catalytic Converter and Magnaflow Muffler with chrome dual tips.-Pioneer CD player/radio.
What the car needs most in my opinion is a paint job. I had always hoped to give it one but never got that far. There is some rust starting to show in the outer wheel fender wells and a fair amount under the door edjes but nothing a decent body man couldn'ttake care of. Please look at the pictures to gather your own opinions though. This is a great car from the 80's and I have really enjoyed owning and working on it. I just have too many projects and need to downsize. Its not perfect but I wouldn'thesitateto drive this car anywhere. It loves the interstate.
Other things to mention:-The power steering pump growls when you start the car in freezing conditions until the fluid warms up.-Drivers side window will not go down. It fell off its track do to a broken window track. Electric motor still works good as you can hear it move inside the door.-Comes with a rear deck lid spoiler. (Not installed)-Also comes with origional Z24 wheels and tires, minus 1 center cap.-Could use an alignment, pulls to the right ever so very slightly.-Speedometergear needs replaced with correct tooth gear. This is a simple fix.
This is not a car I would buy for my 15 year old daughter but if you are looking for a father son project or even a decent work/winter car, this would be a good one for you.
