“A few weeks ago,Hemmings Blog askedreadersif they would favor an early Buick Grand National or a Chevrolet Monte Carlo SSfrom the early 1980s, from the standpoint of picking a car for driving enjoyment rather than investment. Those readers who picked the latter Monte Carlo SS -- and this car definitely has fans -- have the opportunity to gaze upon an ever rarer version of their choice: Arecent Hemmings Find of The Dayis a1987 Chevy Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe. In 1987; Chevrolet produced only 6,052 Aerocoupes, with black, silver and white being the rarer colors -- most were ordered in maroon.”This car has been very well cared for it's entire life, and it shows! The only thing different about this car than when it was new is I added 2" drop spindles to the front suspension. Do you remember how most of the interiors on these cars would dull out and look flat over time? This interior still has the 'sheen' to it like when it was new.
I also have a maintenance schedule showing the mileage documented from the previous owner, the original owner's manual, original window sticker, original pre-delivery inspection procedure, original GM maintenance schedule booklet, original Good Year tire adjustment policy booklet, original Chevrolet Warranty and Owner assistance booklet, original Chevrolet Service signals checklist booklet, and an issue (from 1989 I believe) of Modern Muscle Cars featuring an article on the 1987 Monte Carlo SS. This rare collector features: T-Tops w/ bags in trunk
Power locks that work Power windows that work A/C - Blows COLD! Cruise control that works Intermittent wipers that work Rear defroster that works Bucket seats with console Full gauges w/ tachometer Tilt wheel AM / FM Stereo w/ cassette that works perfectly Original Automatic transmission w/ overdrive Original 305 V-8 engine This is a classic car that will surely appreciate in value, and at the same time providing you with the comfort and convenience of a modern car. Every single gauge and option work just the way they did in 1987.
This Monte drives and handles like the day it rolled off the assembly line. I know a lot of sellers claim this... but it is absolutely true with this car! Come and drive it for yourself! Don't miss out! There were only 6,052 of these cars built in 1987, and most of them have been either wrecked, highly modified, or have a tremendous amount of miles!
This is a very well-preserved, well-maintained example of a low-mileage Monte that will certainly increase in value in the near future!
