1970 Chevrolet Corvette LS7
Description
1970 CHEVHOLET CORVETIE LS-7 COUPE
This Awesome car needs to be used again.
Originally built in the 1970's by a renowned Arizona Corvette specialty shop for competition in
mostly local and California Corvette club events, this Vette was extensively raced, refined and
tuned to numerous victories in both SCCA and NHRA events. None other than Dick Guldstrand
was brought on board to tailor Chassis to precise specifications to slaughter
the competition. Guldstrand was so impressed by the ability of this small yet successful Arizona
shop that he appointed it his one and only Guldstrand Authorized Distributor and Installer and
affectionately referred to this shop as Guldstrand East.
Starting with a factory 454 LS5 and M-22 four-speed coupe, equipped with heavy duty suspension, Heavy Duty Frame and power brakes, the transformation to all out race car began. The Vette was completely
disassembled including removal of the body from the chassis to facilitate the installation of a
full on Guldstrand Sport Suspension and a roll cage after a thorough strengthening of the
factory H.D. frame. Furthermore a Factory Chevrolet 1970 era LS-7 was procured through a
local Arizona Chevrolet Parts Department and was carefully blueprinted and balanced utilizing
all of the factory GM internals with the exception of a Pete Jackson Gear Drive, ARP Fasteners
and Crane Roller Rocker Arms. The motor is topped off with a dual-plane intake manifold and a
Holley 1150 CFM carburetor. A complete MSD Ignition system with Soft-Touch rev limiter lights
the fire. Backed by a correct Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher" transmission, a Hurst Shifter
and 4.10 gears, this combo has been tested and proven. Every inch of this Corvette has been
engineered and modified to ensure that this powerful yet reliable race car was ready for action;
It has been recently freshened up and race ready with a new clutch, new flywheel, new
scattershield, new Hoosier tires, a carburetor rebuild and a complete fluid change.
