Description

1968 Camaro Convertible

This is a rare 2 owner car that I bought from the original owner whose wife had walked into a dealer back in 1967 and special ordered it. She drove it for about 3 years then decided she wanted a Pinto (true story) the husband decided that he liked the car and took it over (he was driving a falcon).

After he started driving it, he added the traction bars and the air shocks in 1970 to be cool, (I left them on as era correct, try and find a set.)

He then decided he wanted a 4 barrel on the car and went out and found a set of date code, heads, and intake and had them installed, (used a Holley carb) and a set of headers. When i bought the car he included the original heads, intake and two barrel carb and they come with the car

The car was ordered with some special and strange options when grouped together

  • Power Steering (no power brakes)N40
  • Astro tinted windows A01
  • Tilt
  • Power topC06
  • Posi rear endC80
  • Fold down rear seatA67
  • Dual exhaust N10
  • Console D55
  • Rear spoiler D80
  • Front strip accent D91
  • Springs G31
  • Steering wheel N30
  • Battery (heavy)T60
  • Belts A39
  • Mats B37
  • RadioU37
  • Wheels ZJ7

The husband drove the car until 1996 then decided to have the car repainted Bolero red, when he did this he added the hood because it was the “in” thing to do at that time. He drove the car to shows until 2015 when I bought it.

I had the car repainted 1968 Matador Red because the Bolero red was actually not the correct color . eBay only lets me post 24 pics I have a Lot of pics pre paint and during the process. This camaro was stripped down to the original metal and primer. Wait till you see the very small areas that needed a little attention . No rust was discovered! The car was repainted with the doors, fenders Hood and trunk off the car and the strip is under the clear! All new weather stripping, polished trim, new window rubber and felts.

- original mileage

  • Original exterior color
  • Original shakers
  • Original interior color
  • Original motor

Above I indicated this was a rare ca, it is because it hasn’t been messed with, its as original as you can get with only era correct items added “during the day” by the original owner.

Another thing that makes this car rare is all 4 original shakers are still in the car in all 4 corners!

And you can get in this car and drive it anywhere, it cruises at 60-65

I have a passion for these vehicles, it is a hobby and not a business. I truly would like to see this vehicle go to an owner that will enjoy driving but maintain this car as it is increasingly rare. They are simply getting harder to find all the time and nothing compares to them in the collector market as far as investment affordability and appreciation. I know once this leaves I will likely not find another easily. it's ready to enjoy.

I am available to answer any specific questions you may have- I want the buyer to enjoy the car and the experience. Fresh oil change and ready for transport. I encourage inspections and the vehicle does not get released until funds have cleared. You have the peace of mind that we have a long and excellent history on the E-bay medium of exchange. I have an excellent reference for shipping if you need one.

I am only concerned and willing to deal with honest legitimate people with a true appreciation for classic cars and legitimately have the funds to purchase. I will only accept direct offers from buyers that speak to me directly and you will need to make a deposit BEFORE the listing is ended. The vehicle is being listed on other mediums as well.
