1972 CORVETTES REPRESENT THE LAST YEAR OF THE FULL CHROME BUMPER CARS AND THE LAST OF THE REMOVABLE REAR WINDOW CARS AND ARE HIGHLY COLLECTABLE ESPECIALLY IN BIG BLOCK FORM. BEAUTIFUL ONTARIO ORANGE THE MOST POPULAR COLOR IN 1972.
THIS IS A VERY SPECIAL CORVETTE, FULLY DOCUMENTED FROM DAY ONE, ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER,BUILD-SHEET, ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE, NCRS JUDGING SHEETS LAST TOP-FLIGHT AWARD WAS IN 1995 NOT JUDGED AGAIN SINCE BUT IT HAS ONLY ACCUMULATED 1500 MILES IN THE PAST 22 YEARS AND SINCE WE’VE OWNED IT. IT HAS BEEN STORED AND CARED FOR AND IS VIRTUALLY THE SAME CAR. WOULD MAKE A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR A CURRENT BLOOMINGTON GOLD SURVIVOR AWARD. THICK BOOK WITH ALL DOCS AND OWNER HISTORY INCLUDING ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, WARRANTY DOCS ETC. ALL ORIGINAL "BORN-WITH" DRIVE TRAIN RUNS AND DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY, THE LS5/454 ENGINE WAS ASSEMBLED ON SEPTEMBER 21, 1971. SAINT LOUIS BUILT CAR ORIGINALLY SOLD NEW IN CANADA THEN IMPORTED BACK TO THE U.S. AND CURRENTLY LIVING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.
HISTORY
MR. ANDRE GAUMOND PURCHASED THIS BEAUTIFUL CORVETTE NEW AND OWNED IT UNTIL 1989. HE ACCUMULATED APPROXIMATELY 48,500 MILES DURING THIS TIME.
MR. JEAN LESAGE, AN NCRS JUDGE, PURCHASED THE CAR FROM MR. GAUMOND AND AFTER A THOROUGH DETAILING BEGAN TO SHOW THE CORVETTE AT VARIOUS NCRS EVENTS THROUGH THE 1990’S AS EVIDENCED BY THE AWARDS AND JUDGING SHEETS.
LEGENDARY MOTORCARS LTD. THE DREAM CAR GARAGE GUYS PURCHASED THE CAR FROM MR LESAGE WITH APPROXIMATELY 53,000 MILES.
THE CORVETTE STILL WEARS 100% OF ITS ORIGINAL PAINT, GLASS AND INTERIOR. IT IS A COMPLETELY NUMBERS MATCHING "BORN-WITH" DRIVETRAIN CORVETTE. VIRTUALLY EVERY COMPONENT IS ORIGINAL INCLUDING THE ENGINE BLOCK, CYLINDER HEADS, INTAKE, EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, CARBURETOR, RADIATOR, TRANSMISSION, DIFFERENTIAL, ETC. I PURCHASED THIS CORVETTE FOR MY WIFE BUT SHE RARELY DRIVES IT. THE NCRS JUDGING SHEETS COME WITH THE CAR IT SCORED A 95.2 OVERALL. ENGINE IS IN A FINE STATE OF TUNE AND RUNS COOL EVEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IT IS SIMPLY A PLEASURE TO DRIVE! THIS BIG BLOCK BEAUTY IS EQUIPPED EXACTLY AS DELINEATED ON THE GM DOCS. 454, TURBO 400 AUTOMATIC, 3.08:1 POSITRACTION, POWER WINDOWS, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, TILT & TELESCOPIC WHEEL, WHITE LETTER TIRES ON ORIGINAL RALLY WHEELS, AM/FM STEREO AND SMOG EQUIPMENT.
THE CORVETTE DOES NOT BURN ANY OIL AND OPERATES PERFECTLY ON 91 OCTANE UNLEADED FUEL. THE FRAME IS VERY SOLID WITH NO EVIDENCE OF RUST OR RUST REPAIR EVER. NO HIT BODY WITH FACTORY BODY PANELS AND ALL ORIGINAL 46 -YEAR OLD FACTORY PAINT; ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL BONDING STRIPS AND FACTORY RIVETS STILL IN PLACE. THE FACTORY PAINT ALTHOUGH A BIT THIN IN A FEW PLACES WITH SOME SMALL TOUCH-UPS, STILL LOOKS GREAT AND SHINES BEAUTIFULLY DOES NOT NEED A REPAINT, IT’S A SOILD 3-5 FOOTER THAT HAS BEEN NICELY POLISHED. THE INTERIOR IS ALL-ORIGINAL AND IN NEAR FLAWLESS CONDITION AS IS ALL THE GLASS AND CHROME. THE ORIGINAL PATINA ON THIS CAR IS TRULY BEAUTIFUL AND STILL SHOWS GREAT IT’S A CONVERSATION PIECE EVERYWHERE IT GOES AND A TRUE TIME CAPSULE.
C3 CORVETTES ARE NOW STARTING TO GO UP IN VALUE VERY QUICKLY AND THE BIG BLOCK CARS LET ALONE, AN ALL ORIGINAL MULTIPLE TOP FLIGHT WINNER & TRUE SURVIVOR SUCH AS THIS WILL SOON BE WORTH MUCH MORE THAN I’M SELLING IT FOR TODAY. SO IM SURE I WILL REGRET SELLING IT AT SOME POINT BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO IF SHE WANTS A NEW CONVERTIBLE. THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH THE CAR AT ALL EXCEPT THE CLOCK RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING. OTHER THAN THAT SHE’S EXTREMELY RELIABLE YOU CAN FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE THE FASTEST OPENING AND CLOSING I HAVE EVER SEEN ON A BIG BLOCK.
