Mr. Thomas sold a portion of his collection at this auction and this is the second car we have sold that were purchased at that auction. As some people may know, Mr. Charlie Thomas is a very successfulauto dealer here in Texas and also former owner of the Houston Rockets basketball team. This is a very nice 67 Camaro. It is an older restoration and still in very nice condition. It is believed to be a matching numbers car. We found a hidden partial VIN under the grate on the cowl on the passenger side were it should be. The engine codes out to be a 1967 327/210 HP 2 bbl from a Camaro with 2 speed Powerglide which it is. There is no partial VIN on the front of the block, but that was not uncommon on the 67 Camaros. The fit and finish are very nice on the Camaro. It is obvious that when this car was restored, it was a very professional restoration. We have no idea how long ago that was. The manually operated convertible top is in excellent condition. There is not boot for thetop however. The window felts are in excellent condition. The interior is in very nice condition. The 30,528 miles were said to be original, but we have no documentation to substantiate that. The 2 speed Powerglide transmission shifts well. The decal on the breather says 275hp, however the engine stamping codes out to be 210hp. The core support and the entire engine compartment are in excellent condition and free from rust. All of the chrome and stainless are in very good condition. The trunk is clean and has the spare tire and jack. The rear "cocktail shakers" are intact. These were installed on 1st generation Camaro convertibles as vibration dampeners. The undercarriage is solid with no visible rust. Enjoy some of our remaining photos.
