1967 Chevrolet Chevelle NO RESERVE
Description
DRIVE TRAIN: This is a good running, driving, stopping very solid old school ride to enjoy as is or restore to whatever level suits you. Here's what I was told and have observed about the car. It was purchased from someone who inherited the car so I wasn't able to speak to the owner/builder who had the car for over 20 years. Was told it has a 383 motor and 700R transmission. Not verified as I don't even know how to verify. It could be a 350 as it doesn't sound like a stroker motor. Starts right up in the cold, runs well, and shifts with a punch like it has a shift kit (will toss your head back barking 2nd). 10 bolt rear end.Front tires have approx. 70% tread left and back maybe 20% (wonder howthat happened).
GAUGES/LIGHTS/GLASS: Head, tail, brake lights and signals work. Fuel gauge works intermittently but don't trust it. Speedometer works but seems to register faster than car is going. Odometer works and shows 12169 which has probably rolled over but I have no way to know actual mileage. Mileage displayed may change as car is driven occasionally. All glass is good. Windows roll up and down as they should. Door hinges, handles, and locks work as they should. Could use window felts and door gaskets as both are in very poor condition.
INTERIOR: Dash is in good condition and very nice on on top by the windshield with no cracks or sun damage. Interior seats are tolerable but worn, some holes and seams separating, one back armrest is damaged the other is missing, headliner is split here and there but not falling down, door and window seals are weathered or in rough shape. Doors and windows do open and shut fine though.PAINT & BODY: Painted black, not a money job at all but the body lines look real clean and are easy to see with the low gloss finish. Paint is one of the least interesting things to me but I would think it is pretty close to being ready for a real money paint job if you want it. No big scabby, bubbly, flaky areas. The stainless or chrome trim along front of hood is missing. Floor pan has been patched on passenger side front and is solid. Appears that all the rust was cut out and not just covered over. The only rust issues I am aware of are pictured...around rim of the trunk which is common, was cleaned up a little and painted and a small area maybe 2 sq. ft. needs a patch in left side of the trunk pan. The rest of the trunk is solid. When fueled up completely full there is a little gas smell in trunk so this rust area might have pin-holed the top of the tank. I have not dropped the tank to inspect it. The rust area in the trunk pan is directly over a body mount which is also pictured.
