Description

I have personally owned this car for almost 25 years. It was orginally a 307 Malibu but had a 350 in it when I bought it as a project in the early 90s. At that time I had the lower quarter panels professionally replaced, added an NOS GM cowl "Heavy Chevy" hood and had it painted. I completely rebuilt the suspension, including new springs front and rear, shocks, tie rods, ball joints, control arm bushings, and new tires. Shortly after getting to that point, I moved for work and the car sat in my parent's garage for the next 20 years. I retreived the car and installed the 396 big block about 6 years ago, but other than a few short trips to local car shows and cruise nights, the car doesn't get driven so I have decided it is time to find it a new home.
Cosmetically the car is in presentable shape, but is showing its age. The sheetmetal is still very straight since it hasn't been a daily driver since the body was finished. The paint shines nicely and is free of oxidation or excessive fading, though there are some nicks and chips and a few spots places with surface rust (see pics).
The interior looks good for its age. The carpet and headliner were replaced before I purchased the car in the 90s. The upholstery, dash, and door panels are all original and in reasonably good condition for their age.
Mechanically it's in great condition. The 396 engine was professionally rebuilt by a reputable machine shop when I purchased it. It has an Edelbrock carburetor, HEI distributor, and headers. It currently has no exhaust from the headers back and would need tailpipes and mufflers to be regularly street driven. It starts and runs good. There are no external oil leaks or major mechanical issues of any kind. It has a 350 automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end, which both function properly. The windsheild has a couple of cracks, but other than those the glass is all good.
The car is well equiped with power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. The power steeing and brakes work good. The AC evaporator box is intact and hasn't been cut or altered. I do have the condensor and compressor that was in the car when I got it but I do not have the correct compressor brackets for the big block (although they are available in the aftermarket from restoration sources).
