Description

With some reluctance, I've decided to sell my 1978 Silver Anniversary Edition Corvette. She just doesn't get driven enough and I've got me eyes set on another project. I've owned her for 13 years and I'm the 3rd owner. The second owner worked for a Corvette restoration shop in Pennsylvania and this car was a personal project of his. After buying it from the original owner, he repainted the entire car and it's got a beautiful finish. The clear coat is out of this world... a brilliant shine! When I purchased the car it had 76K miles on it. I replaced the oyster/white carpet with a kit from Al Knoch and also installed the heat shield underneath to help deflect heat in the cabin. The seats, door panels, and dash are all original. I have replaced the radio with a Panasonic CD/radio standard den and matching speakers. The engine was professionally removed, rebuilt, repainted, and reinstalled. No corners were cut. Mangaflow dual mufflers were installed so it has that deep rumble you would expect from a classic vette. The A/C has been converted to R134 and cools well. The clock does not work but all other dash gauges work just fine. The tires are 1 year old BFGoodrich Radial T/A's and have less than 700 miles on them. Many front end components, bushings, etc, have been renewed and alignment is perfect. Other than the tires and standard maintenance, most items I've listed were done 11 years ago. You may notice the front end is slightly lower than most other 78's. I cut a half coil off of the front springs to bring it down. It brought the front end down to give her a much "meaner" look. Rear brakes and calipers were replaced last year with OE products from ZIP Corvette. The original spare is still in place and jack is still in the original black leather bag. T-Tops come with original vinyl bags/cases.
The passenger door has one blemish that occurred during a music video shoot when the camera suction cup came loose. The blemish has been covered with touch-up paint and is only noticeable when close to the door. She's got the normal slow oil drip and transmission drip of a car that is stored more than it is driven. I normally keep something under the car to catch these but it just needs to be driven more.
The Corvette comes with custom super soft fabric cover for indoor garage use only. This vette has been babied for the 13 years I've owned it. It's only seen rain a couple times when I got caught out in a storm. It's mainly just driven around town but each year I drive it from Richmond, Virginia to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to show it in the annual 'Corvettes at Carlisle' event. It's always made the trip without an issue. Please message me if you have any questions about the car or would like to see more pictures. I have plenty more to share.
Local pickup available or buyer would pay shipping cost. Please message me to work something out.
Thanks for your interest and happy bidding.
