1958 Chevy Apache Short bed Fleetside
Description
This Chevy is a short bed fleetside with a big back window and chrome trim. It is a running truck that has 4 new tires, a new master cylinder, and a new Interstate battery. The engine was changed over to a 327 with a 3 speed transmission that has been converted to a floor shift. The truck can be driven, but a lot of things need to be gone over.
The overall condition of the body is ok, but there are a few needs. The truck was left outside for years and the "indoor" carpet got wet and rusted out the floorpans on both sides by the door pillars. The lower hinge pockets are also rusted. The front fenders are rough with the right one having some bondo on it. The windshield is cracked, but all the other glass including the big back window is good. The wood in the bed is warped and cracked, but the chrome metal strips are in good shape.
This is a complete truck, and with a little TLC it could become an almost daily driver. It does have the potential to become a great truck with hard work. These shortbed fleetsides are not that common. Some of the items that I noticed missing are the passenger sun visor, the word "Fleetside" on the passenger side, the faceplate to the radio, and the dome light cover. It does have a glove box and comes with the shop and assembly manuals.
