First restoration (only about 5k miles ago)
Body / Exterior
The truck received a full frame off restoration in the 90’s with zero expense spared, every nut and bolt touched, every component, replaced, rebuilt or restored. At this time the truck was taken off the frame and put on a rotisserie
The body was blasted to bare metal and worked until laser straight at a high end shop, $13k was spent for this which is probably more like $20k todays money. Even the belly was blasted and painted to match the exterior of the truck.
Brand new NOS GM doors, fenders and bed panels were used. The truck was painted its current silver color, but it had retro style graphics painted on as well.
All exterior trim items were replaced using GM NOS parts, as well as soft items such as weather stripping. Chrome items were rechromed, etc.
The core support, inner fenders and other misc under hood parts were powder coated gloss black. The majority of all the trucks hardware was replaced with brand new stainless steel hardware. The bed receivedall new stainless strips and mahogany bed wood.
Chassis
The frame was blasted and painted. A fresh 6 inch rancho lift was installed. The front and rear diffs were freshened up. All other components, restored or replaced. All new brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tanks (dual tanks) etc replaced.
Driveline
A brand new 335hp aluminum headed “Corvette L98” based GM “ZZ3” crate motor was purchased, complete carb to pan. The transmission was upgraded to a fresh heavy duty TH400 over the stock light duty TH350. A rebuilt NP205 transfer case and new driveshaft to compliment the transmission were also installed. The front Dana 44 diff and rear 12 bolt truck diff were gone through.
Interior
The entire interior was restored using NOS GM parts from the dash to door panels, for the exception of the soft upholstery. The carpet was replaced and the seat was completely rebuilt from the springs up.
Recent freshen up (2015-2017)
After spending the majority of its restored life as a garage queen, and although only about 5k miles were put on the truck since the major restoration, I decided to upgrade some items and opted to get rid of the painted graphics that were on the truck. The following was done:
$8,000 spent to freshen up paint to solid sliver and remove graphics that were previously on the truck
Goodmark Cowl induction style hood
New Dakota Digital VHT Dash
March serpentine pulleys and March brackets
Modern Sanden style compressor, A/C redone to run on R134 (blows cold)
Brand new BFG AT KO tires. 35x12.5
Ceramic coat the headers
Rebuild the carburetor
Went through all systems to make sure all maintenance is up to date and everything was working properly and completely leak free
New AC Delco battery
The mahogany bed wood was professionally refinished.
The inner metal bed panels were LINE X bed line coated for looks and durability
New Bluetooth, Custom Auto Sound stereo system
Factory Tilt steering column, Completely rebuilt
Do not miss the opportunity to purchase this one of a kind truck.
The truck can be viewed in Gilbert, AZ. It holds a clean & clear AZ title.
