Description

I have had this truck 20+ years in parts. Over the last 2 years I have been putting it together. It still needs some work done but I drove it 15 miles a few days ago with no problems other than getting pulled over for out dated tags. There has been a lot of custom work done to this 52 that you wont see on any other custom.

The cab is a 1952 2 ton with 1949 doors(no vent window)... new floors with custom Chevrolet script seat supports

Suicide doors... shaved door handles... smoothed firewall... 41 Ford Dash(speedo converted for chevy trans)

Frenched headlights done with 50's Dodge truck steel rings... 1931 ford taillights... 1960's fork lift gas tank.

New: wiring harness... weatherstripping... bucket seat covers... 40Ford steering wheel...suspension bushings... power steering box... and brakes

Engine: 350... 1984 truck 4 bolt main block... 1969 heads(same casting # and dates as z28 heads)... 1964 Corvette Winters (375hp) Intake worth at least $600... 600cfm Edelbrock Carb... does not smoke, no leaks... sounds good... it was pulled from a 1971 Camaro.

Transmission: 700r4... from a 1992 Chevy truck... shifts strong... needs mechanical speedo and kick down kit installed

Chassis: 1955 car frame... Front Disc Brakes: 2" drop spindles(this truck needs stock height 1955 chevy car spingles tires rub when turning sharp)... Rear End: 1976 Camaro POSI 3:55 gears(best for 700r4 daily driver). 1957 Chevy style steels wheels(powder coated) The white walls are bias(dot apporoved) skinnies on the front and slicks on the back.

Misc.: new glass(has some scratches and a couple of small chips)... I have a custom hood that Ive been building for a prototype to make production kits. I am not going to post pic but will include the hood. Someone can make some pretty good money with this hood.(I'm done building)... inside and outside electric door poppers... frame, dash and roof has been painted with por 15... The transmission is as clean as the rest of the truck... Under the cab is clean too with rubberized undercoating. The valve covers, breather cover and oil pan all are matching cast aluminum. I did my best to get the rearend cover and trans pan to match as well.

Needs: heater rebuilt and installed or a ac/heat combo install. the mounting holes are still in firewall for stock heater... Brake booster hose installed... Power steering pump installed... windshield wipers installed if required or wanted... kick down cable adjusted... hood and front fenders aligned better... need a hood to cowl seal... doors will need to be adjusted(new weatherstripping has them off a little. If you dont want to use your arm then turn signals will need to be installed. The wiring for signals is there.

Summary: I had all these parts setting around and thought lets build something bad ass with them instead of selling them at the swap meet. The build... the truck... took on a life of its own. It ended up taking up more time than I had planned as well. Instead of buying a suicide door kit.. i used all the original parts and modified them. Instead of buying a cheap ass french headlight kit I scavenged through several old salvaged yards until i found the 50's dodge truck plain steal rings and frenched the headlights like they did back in the 50's. I can not stand for the dash to be filled with aftermarket gauges. I knew I had to do something special for the dash and I had a few options to choose from. I went with the 41 ford dash that I had. I wanted the speedo to not be an issue with connecting to the Chevy transmission so I kept the bezel and glass... I removed the gauges and replaced it with a speedo from a 1965 Chevy cluster... added a small tachometer... and a newer fuel gauge. Truck still needs some work but one hell of a start. Even though its made with parts from over 50 vehicles... all the parts look like they belong together. With a little work this is a 30k truck. I am out of time and money so its time to go.

Bottom Line: I will be moving soon and starting a business... so I need to sell this truck soon. As the bid goes up Ill start doing a few extra things to the truck to improve it. If it reaches 25K I will add an AC/Heater, finish the brakes and power steering. If there is anything else the buyer wants done before getting the truck Im sure it can be worked out. No reserve!

P.S. This is a bad ass truck with the right look and lots of unique custom work done. I took it to one car show and one first place for best 50's hotrod. I have the trophy to prove it.

I can spell... LOL... its spindlesnot spingles and its won a trophy... not one ... I thought I could go back and edit later but I guess that's not an option.

I have included two links. The first one is starting the engine, idle and that the exhaust does not smoke at all. The second one shows a mild burnout to prove the posi rearend.
