The best restorations begin as solid cars, and this fully documented Camaro was already in good shape when it rolled in to Tiffin, Ohio's Smitty's Custom Automotive. The idea behind the car's $275K build was two-fold: 1) Create a lights-out classic that could win trophies 2) Give that lights-out classic the ability to hold its own at the Autocross course. Naturally, a large chunk of that build's 2,400 hours of labor was spent on this Chevy's legendary body, with official GM sheetmetal gapped to... hand-built precision. Finessed for excellent fit, that metal was eventually finished in PPG Global Dodge Redline 2-stage. Dyno-tuned to 670 rear-wheel horsepower, the car's incredible Chevrolet Performance LSA delivers a whopping 696 lb./ft. of tenacious torque. Behind that mill, a proven Tremec T56 6-speed spins a $5K Moser 12-bolt that's finished with 3.55 gears. Everything rolls on an adjustable RideTech suspension. Turns come courtesy of a power-assisted Turn One steering box. At the corners, 4 and 6-piston Wilwoods clamp 14-inch slotted rotors. And torque melts the pavement via 18-inch Forgeline wheels and sticky BF Goodrich tires. Interior refinement is one of this Camaro's many virtues thanks to Baltimore, Ohio's Trent's Trick Upholstery. Trent's kept most of the car's timeless lines, finishing them in materials that are akin to today's top cockpits. Firm seats, tall Recaro buckets up front, have been dressed in tight leather and body-matched stitching. The car's dash wraps a Detroit Speed instrument panel around detailed, electroluminescent telemetry while balancing Alpine audio opposite Vintage Air climate control. Beneath that dash, a custom, full-length console frames a billet shifter. And in front of the driver, a removable Momo steering wheel laps a tilting column. Very few classics possess the reliable, well-rounded performance of this incredible Camaro! Call, click or visit for more information.
