Description

1961 Parkwood station wagon we pulled out of a small town in Mississippi. Rarely do you see a Bel Air based wagon in these years with such options as the 348 engine, automatic transmission, factory A/C Power Steering, Power brakes, and front accessory guard. This one still has the clear plastic seat covers that were installed in 1961. I have not disturbed the covers to see if the seat upholstery was protected over the years but it looks like its held up well. The balance of the interior will need mostly likely need replaced at some point including the door panels, carpet, arm rests and headliner. The body is typical of a southern vehicle that more then likely spent some wet years outdoors. The very bottom of the front and rear pans have not survived the test of time, the good news is the inner rockers and floor braces that are usually shot are in overall decent condition. The outside has at the very least surface rust in almost every panel with the tailgate being the worst, one panel even has a bullet hole. Overall the car is an easy save, floor work is easy, a few patches here and there and your good to go. I personally would leave the car alone, freshen up the interior and ride. I have a hotrod shop in Cleveland Ohio that is in its 25th year of business, we stay booked for years at a time or I would build this car for myself to keep. The older I get, the more I realize these cars are like puppies, we can't keep them all but we can give them new homes. We have done the absolute minimum to get it running to make sure the engine was sound. We are selling the car as is and recommend a thorough mechanical inspection prior to any long distance driving. With that being said the car runs and drives fine, no smoke, noises, or problematic oil leaks. If you feel you want the car roadworthy or restored, I'll be happy to do that for you, as long as you're not in any hurry and you don't mind paying a quality shop rate. I'm sure there's questions that will need addressed so I am including my phone number to text me and my email address if you would rather email 216-789-1647 Hotrod5864@gmail.com
