Description

1937 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pickup Hot Rod - FORMER RUNNER - NOW A PROJECT AT 80%
This truck was a runner about 2 years ago. It was taken off the road when I found a partially cut rocker stud while doing some routine maintenance. At that time the heads were pulled and the press fit studs were removed. The plan was to take the heads to the machine shop and have screw-in studs installed. The studs were bought (and are included here), but never installed. A second set of 3890462 camel hump heads are included.
I WANT TO BE CLEAR HERE: THE ENGINE IS NOT CURRENTLY A RUNNER AND NEEDS ROCKER STUDS INSTALLED AND RE-ASSEMBLY. PLEASE SEE THE SHOTS WITH THE HEADS REMOVED. COMPONENTS WERE RE-INSTALLED FOR A REAL-WORLD MOCKUP OF WHAT THIS THING WILL LOOK LIKE.
While the engine was down I decided to change the swing-style brake and clutch pedals to under-floor mounted pedals and swap the Ididit steering column for a vintage GM column and turn signal switch. Neither of those projects were finished either. New Wilwood clutch master cylinder and dual-reservoir front brake master cylinder are included. So is the proportioning valve that was previously on the truck.
A good many parts are included, including a good bit of original '36-37 steel parts (steering column, inner door panels, hood sides, inner rear cab window panel, headliner bow, etc.), a set of rocker panels, and a set of lower door skin repair panels.
Truck:
  • 1937 Chevy frame and all-steel cab (Cab was clear-coated after I got it to preserve the original patina.)
  • 1936 Chevy truck grill shell
  • 1937 Chevy truck hood - trimmed to fit with the '36 shell
  • 1936 Chevy truck bed
  • Custom aluminum diamond plate inner door panels
  • Customaluminum diamond plate floorboards
  • Custom aluminum diamond plate firewall (mounted over the original steel firewall)
  • Vintage GM Diesel Power gauge panel
  • Stewart-Warner gauges
  • New fuse panel and wiring
  • 1937 (I think) bottom and rear seat frames and springs (the seat riser has been removed from the cab)
  • New tires, wheels, and center caps
  • Vintage-style leather hood strap kit (not installed)

Engine:
  • 1965 327 from Chevy Impala (3782870) (2 bolt main)
  • 1967 factory 2.02 camel hump heads (3890462) (no acc. holes, 64cc chambers, 2.02/1.6) A SECOND SET OF 3890462 HEADS ARE INCLUDED. These heads have no rockers.
  • Vintage Cal Custom ribbed valve covers
  • Vintage Cal Custom ribbed oil pan
  • Vintage Weiand SCVSQ dual-plane intake
  • Vintage Offenhauser breathers
  • Vintage Moon timing cover
  • Holly 4150 600 CFM double-pumper
  • Mallory Unilite 3748201 distributor
  • Custom ceramic-coated lake-style headers with cutouts.(currently have baffles installed). Turn dow tips and block off plates for the cutouts and the megaphones included.
  • Set of ceramic coated exhaust pipes with Smitty's mufflers and hangers

Transmission:
  • T-5 Non-WC 5-speed transmission (originally from Camaro)
  • T-5 S-10 tail housing to move the location of the shifter forward
  • Hydraulic clutch
  • Hurst shifter
  • 11" clutch

Rear-end:
  • Non-posi from a 1964 Impala(3.55 gear ratio?)
  • 4.11 center is included and ready to drop in
  • 11" brakes with all new parts, including lines, hoses hardware kit, wheel cylinders, etc. about 3-4 years ago

Front end:
  • 10" GM disc brakes
  • Vintage Wilwood calipers
  • Flaming River Vega-style steering box
I got this truck with power steering and a traditional-style steering set up installed. I removed all of that and replaced it with the Vega box and a much better cross-steering set up.
This listing will also include, if interested, several other parts including steering columns, bumper, etc.
