Description

1971 Chevelle SS 454
I have not had this car very long, so I am limited to what I see.
ENGINE
Chevy 454, odometer reads 55,000+, but it could be 155,000.
Has a new Holly Avenger 770 4-barrel carburetor on a
Edelbrock Performer 2-0 aluminum intake manifold.
Runs good and starts easy. Sounds like it has a stock cam in it.
TRANSMISSION
Turbo 400, 3-speed automatic, on the floor shifter.
INTERIOR
Seats, headliner, and carpet look new. There is a split down the middle of the dash pad.
The driver's door hinges are worn and should be replaced. All the glass is good and the
windows roll up and down. There is a Kenwood stereo and speakers, with remote.
EXHAUST SYSTEM
Headers, dual exhaust
Appears to have the 40 series Flowmaster mufflers, or similar, and it is loud.
Appears to have 2 1/2" exhaust pipes, and has the correct exhaust tips.
SUSPENSION
Has a 12-bolt rear end, rear stabilizer bar, some UMI performance suspension parts.
Bilstein shock absorbers. I assume it is a positrac, I don't know the rear end gear ratio.
Disk brakes in the front, drums in the back. Appears to have a new power
brakes booster and master cylinder.
The wheels on the car are 15" American Racing aluminum. The car does not come with a spare rim/tire.
AIR CONDITIONING
It came from the factory with air, but the compressor is not there.
I have receipts dating from 2013 to 2015 totaling $7,324.00 for work done on the transmission,
brakes, interior, and other things. Work was done by Great Hills Automotive and Eagle Transmission,
both of Austin.
The car is not perfect, if it were it would be twice the price.
Even so, you will be approached every time you drive it by someone who wants
to buy it, steal it, race against it, look at it, talk about it (is that a Camaro?), take pictures,
hear it run, sit in it, go for a ride, and such. The value of these cars is way up and will continue
to rise.
The car is also for sale locally, so this listing may end at any time.
I have a clear Texas title in my name. It has passed inspection but needs updated plates and registration.
