Description

You can still get a lot of vintage iron for your money with an old truck. Take this 1964 Chevy C10 pickup, which has a traditional paint job, a handsome and comfortable interior, and ZZ4 V8 power. If just having fun in a vintage truck is your goal, there aren't many more practical ways to do it.
The mid-60s Chevy pickups were a styling home-run, and they sold record numbers of them as a result. Today, they have a great old truck vibe without being so archaic that they can't be driven like a regular vehicle. Painting it bright red certainly helps give this one a bit of an attitude, and with the straight sheetmetal and high-gloss finish, it certainly attracts attention wherever you park it. We love the utilitarian look of the side-mounted spare, stepside bed, and oversized side mirrors, and since it spent its entire life in a warm climate the sheetmetal was still in great shape when the restoration started. You get loads of character, a genuine wood bed that offers a warm contrast to the red paint, and the bright white top, bumpers, and grille look right on a truck. They didn't add, modify, or shave anything, so it has a very old-school look including the unique airfoil on the back of the cab of these trucks that's just plain cool.
The interior was upgraded with a pair of bucket seats from a late-model and they do change the personality. Don't worry, it's still rugged and built for the job site, so the controls feel robust in your hands and everything's simple and direct. New Auto Meter gauges fit into a custom panel that looks almost OEM and the steering wheel is oversized to make the truck easy to handle. A more recent AM/FM radio has been fitted into the center of the dash, but it's a neat installation that looks almost like the factory intended and there is a discrete A/C system tucked underneath. This truck came from the factory with a manual gearbox, and it's been upgraded to a Super T-10 unit with a Hurst shifter to make it feel a little more user-friendly rather than agricultural.
Replacing the original inline-six, this truck now carries a 350 cubic inch ZZ4 crate motor, which delivers a healthy wallop of torque to get this long bed pickup rolling without strain. With aluminum heads, long-tube headers, and a 4-barrel carburetor, it has the right look under the hood and definitely makes this truck feel quick around town. The underhood area is neatly designed and functional, including a serpentine belt drive system, modern accessories, and a new power brake booster and dual master cylinder. Underneath, there's a recent dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers for a great V8 sound and with a fully independent front suspension and coil springs out back, this is a great-riding pickup even when you're not carrying a load. It's tidy underneath, showing evidence of a frame-off restoration, and it appears that the frame has been coated with durable paint so it's ready for another 50 years. Painted 15-inch Rally wheels update things a big and they carry beefy Goodyear Wrangler radials that fill the fenders perfectly.
We sell a lot of these trucks, but we don't often see them finished to this level. Beautiful, fun, and still able to do a bit of work, this Chevy has a bright future ahead of it. Call today!
