Looking for a vintage muscle car with all kinds of bite to back up its bark? This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle is about as fresh off its rebuild as a car can possibly be, and it combines an absolutely magnetic exterior that's sure to turn heads with some serious big block power lurking under its hood.
Chevy defied the norm by closing out its first generation of Chevelles by undertaking some fairly ambitious design changes on its respected boulevard cruiser - adding an entirely new grille and smooth contours all over just a year before this one came out, followed up with wrap around taillamps. If the Bowtie design crew could see this '67, with its muscular form dressed in clean and well-applied, jet-black paint that sits under a strong clearcoat, they'd no doubt beam with pride at just how well their efforts turned out. This is a restoration clearly done right, and this Chevelle's assembly of chrome - from that newly designed grille up front, to the bumper and trim in back - is at its best, along with badging on all four sides that looks to have been entirely replaced. This Chevy's got a very finished look to it, and if you draw close, you can see how much precision went into its reassembly - nice even panel gaps everywhere you look result in doors and hood that open and close very smoothly.
A very impressive interior sits inside the doors, with stock and aftermarket styling cues blending seamlessly to create a driving environment you'll no doubt want to spent maximum time in. The low backed buckets up front have been refurbished to their original specs and look exceptionally sharp - with only a few miles on this Chevy's odometer, you'll have the distinct privilege of being among their very first occupants. The Chevelle is an agile yet generously proportioned muscle car and as you look in back, you can appreciate one of the decided benefits of its size - there's plenty of legroom for your passengers as they assume their place on the freshly upholstered bench seat. You'll see some serious design wizardry on display in the dash area. A set of Dakota digital gauges blends in perfectly with its surroundings and, of course, provides accuracy that would have been out of reach for circa mid-'60s factory components. The trunk area in back looks great -an expanse of rubber matting lines the floor and there's a lot of interior metal on display that's well-prepped and equally well-aligned.
When it comes time to step into the accelerator, there's a 454 cubic inch V8 sitting under the hood that's more than happy to oblige, teaming with a 3-speed automatic TH400 transmission that's been upgraded with a shift kit. Sitting between the wide set inner fenders, the engine really cuts quite an appearance and it sounds out a great exhaust note when called into duty. A Holley double pumper and Edelbrock intake sit just underneath a chrome air cleaner to feed the big block, a set of March performance pulleys have been added to reduce belt drag and add still another feature to gawk at, and a sizable radiator sits up front to keep things cool. Featured power steering and power brakes make this performance machine easy to navigate and bring to a prompt stop as needed. You'll really appreciate just how fresh this rebuild is when you take a look below at the undercarriage. This powerful and well-restored vintage Chevy sits on a set of 18" Boss chrome wheels outfitted with Nitto NT555 tires.
