This is a very cool old hot rod from California. Built there, and stayed there until very recently. Absolutely rust free and always rust free. No bondo anywhere. Pictures sometimes show paint better than it is. This car is a prime example. There are many nicks, scratches, and other imperfections, but no major dings or dents. I am going to say it needs paint so there are no misunderstandings. It was originally a blue car, but a long time ago, someone did a complete body disassemble and a repaint to the black. No blue is showing anywhere except for where some of the nicks are. I was going to use some 2000 gritsand paper to bring the blue back out on high spots anddull theback down for the patina look. The chrome and stainless are in very good original condition. Still has the California 1 piece bumpers. The front fender trim spear on the drivers side has some dents, but there is a perfect one in the trunk. Also comes with spare " Biscayne " script rear side emblem, and an original steering wheel andhorn button. It has factory tinted glass that is in good shape.Weatherstripping is all good or has been replaced. I believe the car was originally a 348 manualcolumn shift car. It has the 348 emblems front and rear. It is now running a 1968 327 - 4 barrel with an automatic 350 Turbo transmission. Car runs and shifts great. The guy left the stick shift pedal assembly in the car, and I am including the rest of the factory clutch linkage and a factory 1959bell housing forthose that may want a stick shift car. The shifter looks like a manual shifter that has been adapted for the automatic. It works fine once you get use to finding where the gear locations are. If you want to keep it an auto, I wouldchange it out. The interior has been replaced at some point, and was very well done. No workneeded in there. It has a newer IDIT style tilt steering column. Nicestereosystem with a multi CD disc player in the trunk.Stereo works great but I nevertried the CD changer. Tach andgauges all work. Lights allwork. Wipers work. Bias Ply widewhite wall tires have good tread, but they are older. Not something I would recommend taking on a cross country road trip before replacing them.
All in all, this is a verysolid old hot rod that is ready to drive as is, or take it to whatever level you want to take it to. You would be hard pressed to find a more solid andrust free body to start with, and 59s are very hot right now. A straight / rust free body with very good chrome and stainless. Ask any knowledgeable car guy how much that adds to the value of a car. You couldeasily spend my " buy it now number of $18,500.00 " in a body shop costs just to bring a rusty 59 body back to this level of solid.
I also have some custom 15" x 20" 5 spoke wheelswithback spokes and polished aluminum outer rims, with like new tires, that I will include for an additional $800.00 if the lowered look with big wheels is the look you leaning towards.
F.Y.I., Once the reserve price is met, the buy it now price goes away, and I will not end the auction once that happens.
Again, call me at 314-732-5925 before you hit the enter key for honest answers to your questions.
