1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette - 58k Miles, all documentation
Description
.
1978 Chevrolet Corvette, L-48 numbers matching 350 V8 engine, TH350 automatic transmission, special silver anniversary two tone paint (it was repainted back in the mid 2000’s, outside of 4-6 small rock chips that is easily repaired, would be considered excellent paint. It’s literally a 1 footer paint job that's been covered in a garage since it was re-painted and driven less than 1,300 miles). I'd say it's 8.5+ out of 10 with the couple chips. All NOS emblems, etc.. used by body shop. Oyster leather interior from Corvette America, was originally a cloth/vinyl interior. The trim tag confirms the original paint color (2-tone Silver Anniversary) and Oyster Cloth interior.
- All new hoses (heater hoses and radiator hoses), new thermostat, and coolant flushed.
- All new vacuum lines supplied by Dr. Rebuild (best fitment for Corvette’s that exists and as close to original as possible). Re-hooked up the emissions equipment that someone thought would be good to disconnect, when in reality they robbed it of power with open vacuum lines.
- Rebuilt the TH-350 transmission back in 2005, added a shift kit. Replaced transmission pan and filter (2017) also have original pan, replaced kick down cable connection o-rings, speedometer housing, pan gasket, fluids, etc.. in 2018.
- Replaced leather seating and seat foam
- Replaced carpets and door panels, with sound deadening and insulation
- Restored stock radio and wiring (just needs to be installed). Previous owner had a tape deck installed, but kept the stock radio. I was able to fix the tuner on the radio, and have tested it.
- New battery 2017
- New Fuel Filter 2017
- Rear differential fluid change using GM gear oil and GM Posi fluid - 2017
- Brakes, spark plugs, wires, front hub/ and new bearings - less than 1,200 miles on them.
- 58,200+ documented miles.
- Birdcage in great shape, can send you pictures if you like (eBay limits me to 12).
- Have a binder full of paperwork since the car was bought, including the original mileage statement from the dealer, transfer information, etc..
Punch list of items that I was going to do this spring/summer that you can choose whether you do or not:
- Install radio, repair antenna mast (have the kit, just haven’t got around to it).
- Clock doesn’t work, though in most Corvette’s of the era they don’t. There is a repair kit for it or a quartz replacement out there. Was going to do that at the same time as the radio install.- Air Conditioning doesn’t work. With the t-tops, I never would have used it anyways.
