1985 M1028 CUCV Chevy K30
Description
1985 M1028 CUCV military truck. In good condition, runs down the road prefect (as well as a cucv will, no overdrive and 4.56 gears) . Starts right up everytime, did put the glow plugs on a switch.
Everything is mechanical good. I bought it not running and fixed it all up, but I have too many trucks. I replaced the batteries, water pump, steering pump, steering gear box, power steering lines, brakes, starter, a bunch of seals, seat cover and serviced it. All the parts are from Napa except the starter and batteries. Batteries are from Walmart and since the starter is 24volts I got it from a place that deals with military trucks. Just passed Virginia state inspection and is ready to drive.
Since it's a m1028 it has a Detroit Locker in the rear and a True-Track in the front. Body is in pretty good shape, paint has a bunch of chips, no body rot at all, just some surface spots and the inner fender well has a rust spot on the removable little piece that you can change. Cab corners aren't rusted out. Has two dents on each side of the bed. No major leaks (a few slight leaks, but you can leave it on a nice driveway and it won't drip)
Overall it's in pretty good shape and is in a lot better condition than others ones I seen posted. You can actually drive this anywhere with no problems. It's not prefect but it's a 30 year old truck that's been used by the government.I have alot more pictures and feel free to ask any questions.
Some questions I have been asked-
The tires are MasterCraft Lt285/75-16 Mt's and have about 85% or better tread left, no dry rot and are balanced.
The 24 volt electrical system / two alternators work prefect. All the wiring is stock, the only thing I changed was put the glows plugs on a switch, the controller doesn't work.
The exhaust system is stock and works fine, no leaks.
I put the seat cover on because the driver side corner has a tea, but overall the seat is in great shape.
