Description

I purchased this K5 back in May. I had big plans for it but I just don't have the time for another project and it'll sit here for months before I get a chance to start on it.
It's a CST model with factory A/C. The A/C is inoperable but is all there. This was a fairly well optioned K5 and black is the original color. A pic of the SPID sheet is here in the ad so you can see all of the original equipment listed.
The GOOD:
It does run good and has new exhaust from just past the manifolds back. The transmission shifts as it should. It has a NEW gas tank under it as well. The interior is very nice for its age and the original dash has not been cut or otherwise molested. It has new bumpers front and rear. It has new emblems on the fenders and new lenses on the taillights, turn signals and marker lights. It has new carpet front and back. It has new regulators in both doors. New steering wheel. It has a new dash pad as well. It has an original-style console in it, but from the GMC logo on it, I assume it was pulled from a Jimmy at some point. It has a nice top in good condition but is a double-wall top so I assume that is not original to the Blazer as a '72 should've come with a single-wall top (I prefer the double-wall top myself.) It has a set of 265/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler tires that are in very good condition and they're wrapped around a set of Moto Metal wheels. It has a new brake booster and appears to have a new master cylinder and one new caliper. Newer paint inside and out. The matte black finish is paint not primer. The hood is straight and the grille is in good condition. Windshield frame is solid. Floors are solid. Some evidence of previous repair where the kick panel meets the floor but appears to have been well done.
The BAD:If you're bidding on this first gen K5 understand that it is a PROJECT. How much of a project depends entirely upon your end goal.
The rear brakes are sketchy. I've got all new parts for them here, they may be on before the auction ends. If not, they go with the truck. The rear hatch needs work. Fiberglass is cracked and the previous owner couldn't locate the latch mechanism. It will need the rocker boxes rebuilt and new fender wells IMO (could be repaired but unless you're a body shop owner, it's probably not cost-effective.)
It was for sale earlier this Summer. Some of you may have seen it here on eBay back then. I bought it through the seller's Facebook Marketplace ad and he cancelled his auction. I really wanted another 1st Gen K5 (I drove a '70 all through high school) but with my '77 Dually and my '36 Chevy, I just don't have time to give this one the love it deserves.
I'm a LONG TIME eBay seller with excellent feedback. I want it to stay that way! If you have ANY questions don't hesitate to ask BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS. I will do my best to answer your questions.
