Classic Car 1957 Chevrolt Bel Air Convertable
Description
I am selling the last car in my collection. My children aren't interested in collecting so it's time to let someone else enjoy it.I purchased the car from the man who restored it. I saw the car off frame and put back together. The car is rebuilt to showroom condition. I have only driven the car less than three thousand miles in twenty five years.Four years ago I had to replace the speedometer head and the miles on the new one were set at zero.Of course I have no way to prove that but the condition will show any collector that the car has not been driven much. In fact only once was the car ever out in the rain in twenty five years.I was at a car show and an unexpected storme came through. This car has won so many trophies that I stoped entering it about ten years ago. I've only taken it to local shows in my area.I bought the car because I just thought it was beautiful. Any car I've ever purchased I did because I liked the look of the car. I am not in anyway a motor head. I have been lucky that the car has been perfect. The only things I've ever had done to the car since it was new is, change the oil every six months. Had the solid lifters adjusted only once the first year I owned it.Changed the speedometer head, had the carbs taken off and cleaned because I let it sit for over a year and they gummed up. What needs to be done is the sending unit for the gas gauge needs to be replaced ( which I have in the trunk) and the stearing wheel has scratches on it and should be painted to make it perfect. The top has a small half inch tear just under the side rear molding in the back on the passenger side. ( it happened when the top was installed and it's so small I didn't want them to do it again. It hasn't changed in twenty five years and unless I stated it you probably never would have noticed it.
This is a highly collectible car and five years ago a well known auction house offered me $90,000.00for it but I turned them down. I know it's worth more than that now.
