FOR SALE IS A 1969 CORVETTE COUPE THAT HAS BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING FOR A "TOP FLIGHT" RESTORATION FOR ALMOST 30 YEARS. BETWEEN MYSELF AND THE LAST TWO OWNERS, THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING INSIDE, COVERED UP, COLLECTING DUST AND NECESSARY PARTS SINCE THE LATE 1980'S.
THIS CORVETTE IS EXTREMELY RARE. THIS IS A REAL 427/435HP CORVETTE EQUIPPED WITH THE OPTIONAL L89 ALUMINUM HEADS. IT IS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE (3955270 BLOCK), NOT A RESTAMP. IT IS ONE OF 43 AUTOMATIC L89'S PRODUCED (LW CODE ENGINE) AND IT STILL RETAINS IT'S ORIGINAL "CY" TURBO 400. THIS IS THE SPECIAL, HEAVY DUTY, HIGH SHIFT POINT AUTOMATIC THAT WAS USED IN SOLID LIFTER BIG BLOCK CHEVYS SUCH AS THE AUTOMATIC L88'S, LS6 CHEVELLES AND ZL1 CAMAROS.
ANOTHER UNIQUE FEATURE OF THIS FACTORY CORTEZ SILVER COUPE IS THAT IT CAME FROM ST. LOUIS WITH AN EXTREMELY RARE GUNMETAL LEATHER INTERIOR OF WHICH THERE WERE ONLY APPROXIMATELY 135 CORVETTES PRODUCED (.34%). OTHER THAN THIS CAR I HAVE ONLY SEEN ONE OTHER GUNMETAL LEATHER INTERIOR IN A 1969 CORVETTE IN MY 35 YEARS IN NCRS.
THIS CAR IS ALSO A GENUINE FACTORY OPTIONED N14 SIDE EXHAUST CAR. IT IS LISTED ON THE ORIGINAL DEALER INVOICE AND YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE FACTORY CUT OUTS IN THE WHEEL WELLS.
THIS CORVETTE HAS ITS FACTORY ENGINE, FACTORY "CY" TRANSMISSION AND FACTORY 3:36 REAR END. THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS AFTERMARKET. THE CAR RAN STRONG WHEN I DROVE IT ONTO A TRAILER IN 2009. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN HIT. THE FRAME IS AN OHIO FRAME, HOWEVER IT IS VERY SOLID EVERYWHERE.
