Description
Up for auction is my 1974 fuel injected LS1 Stingray restomod. I finished this project about a year ago and have put only 1,325 miles on it since.I bought this Stingray a couple of years ago and it was sold in an almost finished state as the previous owner was going through a divorce and had to sell it quickly so was unable to finish it. He had already spent $22,000 in parts on it not including the purchase price of the Corvette ( The receipts will come with the car). When I purchased the car it was not in driving condition so I finished the braking system, headlights, fan wiring, air conditioning and wheels/ tires. I am a classic car collector and restorer and have owned 5 C3 corvettes from stock to wild and this one is the most well sorted and drivable one yet. I can leave the car for two weeks and it fires up at first crank. This is a very fast car, in fact the fastest street legal one I have owned and I was told by the previous owner that it has 400+ horsepower. Equipped with an all aluminum LS engine this Stingray only weighs around 3,000 lbs. I have personally had the car up to 135 mph and it still wanted more and it was very stable at that speed. I am sure it is capable of well over 150 mph, but it is still quite easy and smooth to drive at legal speeds and only gets scary when you punch it. I never give the car full throttle from a standstill as this just results in wheelspin even with the sticky 18 inch tires.
Body / exterior - This Stingray was subject to a frame off restoration so the underside of the body was refinished in black and the rest in Hugger Orange basecoat/clearcoat. The paint is about 3 years old and is very glossy and show worthy. The only flaws are a small crack in the paint at the nose (see close up photo of badge) and if you get the angle just right you can just make out some slight depressions due to shrinkage where the luggage rack was. I am being very critical as most people would never notice these flaws. All the lights work and the headlights pop up and down well. The frame / chassis was repainted gloss black. All the door and window seals are new. The doors open and close easily and the locks work and the power windows move up and down quickly.
Drivetrain - This Corvette has had its 180hp iron engine removed and an all aluminum 2002 LS1 engine and 4 speed automatic transmission installed. The transmission is a 4L60-E model and shifts smoothly under normal driving. When driven fast it has strong solid shifts thanks in part to its street fighter 2,200rpm stall convertor. The engine has a Comp cam camshaft LS1 XER273HR-14 which is about the biggest you can put in and still retain the factory fuel injection. The engine has a lope to it at idle and loves the higher rev range. It is fitted with long tube stainless steel headers which I have been told are good for an extra 40hp on a LS engine and a dual stainless steel Magnaflow exhaust system. I have been driving it this summer in 100 degree weather and the temp gauge sits at 210 degrees even with the air conditioning on. The oil pressure seems to run between 50 to 75lbs. The brakes are all new factory 4 wheel discs with a Willwood Hydroboost master cylinder and the brakes are impressive. All the suspension and steering has been rebuilt, replaced or upgraded and the car feels tight. I have posted a YouTube video and if you watch it to the end you will get a tour of the underside of the Stingray to see how nice it is. The car is equipped with 18 x 8.5 inch wheels with high performance Sumitomo tires 235/45 up front and 255/45 in back. The rear end is rebuilt including new rear hubs.
Interior - The interior has had sound deadening mat installed and new carpet, door panels seat covers and seat foams. I removed the lap belts and installed modern 3 point inertia reel belts. I also added LED interior lighting that come on when you open the doors or twist the light switch. Blue LEDs in the footwells and luggage compartment and white on the dash center stack. The gauges are Autometer phantoms and work great apart from the voltmeter which reads 1.5 volts lower than battery voltage. When it shows 12v at the gauge it is 13.5v at the battery. It has a Kenwood am/fm cd unit with Bluetooth and aux with a power antenna and four speakers. The steering wheel is a smaller diameter leather wrapped wheel that works well with the power steering. The air conditioning / heater controls work correctly and the A/C has been upgraded to a later model specification. The rear storage compartments have been retained and the rear speakers are mounted high and it is still easy to fit the T tops in the rear luggage compartment. The interior still has that new car smell!
I have done my best to describe my car but I would advise you to watch the 10 minute YouTube video I have made as you can see it drive and you will get some great close up views, it will give you a good feel for the car. For some reason the Corvette looks more red in the video, the photos are more accurate in color. Feel free to email me or call me ( Simon @ 559 349 3109) with any questions. It is time for this Stingray to find a new owner as I have another project waiting. Bidders with less than 3 feedbacks contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. If the car needs to be shipped I can help arrange shipping.

On Sep-02-18 at 12:30:30 PDT, seller added the following information:I forgot to mention that I have half a gallon of the Hugger Orange paint that was used to paint the Stingray and it goes with the car. That way if you wish to fix the imperfection on the nose it could be blended in perfectly. I never had it done because it is so slight it didn't bother me.
