1968 El Camino Malibu Project to complete
Description
Regretfully, up for auction is my 1968 ElCamino. I have owned this car for over 15 years, and have loved the experience. About 6 years ago, I began a "refresh" of the classic and replaced many part on this classic ride as well as an engine rebuild. The car is in need of a few things to finish it up. I unfortunately am running low on time and resources to complete this project like it deserves, so I am offering it up for the next proud owner. The car is currently unable to be driven. I would be afraid to add up the money I have spent on new parts/components, but I am pretty sure it would be north of 10K. Here is a list of what hs bee replaced:
- Engine has been tanked and bored out .030 - New valve relief flat top pistons - 2.02/1.60 camel hump heads with new z/28 springs, and roller lifters - all new seals / bearings - polished intake/speed demon carb / K&N filters - competition cam - aluminum radiator - brake booster and front disc brakes - Scat pro rally bucket seats - rosewood steering wheel - converted to floor shifter (replaced steering column) - Front fenders - light weight fender wells - SS hood and louvers - ceramic coated headers - numerous chrome accents including steering shaft, radiator shroud tall valve covers, wire loom, heater cover, etc. - radiator support - Stainless hoses - custom autosound stereo with 6 disc changer, infinity speakers/subwoofer, 10 band equalizer, Pyle Amp, Remote - 40 oz carpet and heartbeat floormats - front and rear springs - dynaflow 2 1/2" exhaust with crossover- needs to finish installation - powerglide transmission and converter- includes original that are also operational - front and rear bumpers - many new chrome trim pieces - body paint seal it - not yet installed - rally wheel trim and center hubs - and many other items I am sure I have missed.
What is left to do:
- Initial engine startup and adjustments - connection of driveshaft and shifter linkage - Some wiring - Install new rear springs - Install exhaust - some small dents to fix - door dings by passenger rear quarter, small ding on driver fender, hole to fill on passenger fender from antenna install - possibly needs fuel line/tank cleanout from sitting dormant for awhile- some trimming on new carpet on drivers side. - fill, blee, and adjust brakes - front end alignment - Paint

Very solid car with clear title. Good luck, and I hope the car will bring you as much pleasure as it has given me.
