Description

I have owned this truck since July of 2015 and I have put a lot of money and attention to detail into getting this build right. The gentleman I bought the truck from had owned it for 12 years prior to me buying it and when he first got the truck he either purchased all new Factory GM sheet metal for it or it came with the truck when he got it. That’s when you could still get factory GM sheet metal. It had the factory GM stickers on it when I came to look at the truck. No Re-pop metal here. There is ZERO Bondo or body filler in this truck and all of the truck is GM sheet metal. The inside of the cab had two small areas of rust on each kick panel that needed to be cut out and new metal welded in. That was done and you will get photos of the restoration as well to see that this truck was taken all the way down. I was planning to keep it and that is why it got the attention it did. You can’t build this truck for this kind of money. Below is a list of items that makes this truck special.

1980 Was a One year only front end with single Square headlight. Round prior to 1980 and double rectangle headlights from 1981 On.

Production Numbers were low in 1980 because of the market crash. Chevrolet only made a total of 31,776 K5 Blazers in 1980 compared to the almost 90,987 they made in 1979.

Beautiful Black Professional Paint by Scotty P Kustoms

Custom Classy Black and White Tuxedo look paneled Interior. All the interior is redone, including headliner, visors, rear panels, seats etc. I kept the cool chrome ashtrays in the rear panels because no one does that, but this is a non-smoking truck.

All Factory Sheet Metal

Factory 350 Engine rebuilt top to bottom at .10 over with a larger cam and performance pistons. All Emissions equipment is there and new. I have about 1500 miles on the truck since the restoration has been completed. The motor was broken in properly by being heat cycled and it’s had two oil changes with Zinc additive.

Rebuilt Factory TH-350 Transmission

Rebuilt Transfer Case

Radiator Re-Cored

Rebuilt 12 bolt rear end changed over to Full Posi with 4.11 gears. With the new 33 inch tires it makes for a great around town as well as highway drive

Driveline completely rebuilt with front and rear shafts balanced

2.5 Inch Skyjacker Full Spring Lift with new 33 Inch BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires and custom speedo adapter so speedometer is spot on.

Truck Comes with 3 inch trim rings new in the box that have never been installed. I love the way the rims look without them and they are too clean to scratch up in my opinion. Factory rims balanced and painted black by Scotty P Kustoms.

Hard top was sprayed with Durable liner inside and out so it would not get damaged. Clear bra was installed under the factory hard top to protect the paint if the top was put on and off. New seals everywhere including windows as well as new interior lighting.

Brand New Never Opened in the Box Complete Soft Top with tinted windows made by Softopper in Boulder CO. I just never got around to taking the hard top off. Shame on me because I know it looks terrific with it off. Top was over $1000 with shipping.

Stereo system was professionally installed. Retrosound Bluetooth radio in the dash looks factory but is tied to a Rockford Fosgate T1000X5ad 1000 watt amp that hides in the dash. It also has a Rockford Fosgate Punch 8 Inch Sub that hides under the driver seat and moves back and forth as you adjust the seat. The sub has also has it’s own independent adjustment knob on the lower part of the dash. Front Speakers are Alpine R-S65 and rears are Pioneer TS-A6996 S. Terrific sound system.

All exterior badges stripped down, chromed and repainted by hand.

New Curt Trailer Hitch installed but the truck has never towed anything since the restoration.

Newly tinted windows

All new cables, new Rear Window Motor and more

When the truck was all the way down, the floor was coated and then sound proofing was put down and then new factory carpet. So it’s done right.

New exhaust is not loud but throaty.

Original Jack restored and mounted on wheel well.

Custom Subtle Chevy Logo Floor Mats

AC re-done with new fittings but charged with R12 and blows cold. Additional cans of Freon will be provided but they are not needed and won’t be for a long time.

All Gauges and Electrical Work

Looks like new, Runs Like New and smells new.No corners cut, no expense spared.

Ask me the condition of anything and I will either say “New” or “Restored”

I have a massive folder with receipts and there is probably a ton I am forgetting to tell you that has been done to it, but it’s on paper. I also have an original new in the box key chain which is a 1980 K5 Blazer from that year. Other parts will also be included like new horns. I had my factory horns restored but I have new Horns from LMC in the box. I have the original carpeted spare tire cover which is for the factory wheel. There is a new lower fairing in the box for the front end I was going to customize but never got around to. New 3 inch Chrome Trim Rings for the wheels.I have extra keys all properly matching, Full Repair Manuals for shop and electrical. There are a number of items like that.

The only item I have not addressed is the rear window being operational from the key cylinder in the rear gate. Everything is there so it could be as simple as a connection or relay. I have never looked into it. I have always just used the factory switch in the dash to put the window up and down.

Inspections are welcome, This truck runs Fantastic, is SUPER CLEAN and has been done right wit loads of attention to detail. I get compliments every time I take it out. Contact me as I have more pics I can send over and I would be glad to answer questions or do a walk around video.Three Oh Three 246 zero zero zero three.

Thanks Justin
