Exterior Color: Yellow Interior Color: Black Engine: LS7 454 Transmission: 4 speed Miles: 43292 Many times when a Corvette is restored and/or modified the details of the build are lost over time. Ownership changes, receipts lost or simply not kept, owners not wanting their spouses to know what was actually spent on the car, and for numerous other reasons the details of a car build can disappear with time. Not so with this car. The enitre frame off build and modification of this car was documented by Super Chevy Magazine in 6 consecutive issues. The Build was done by Guldstrand Engineering in Culver City California. Dick Guldstrand and his team were some of the most respected Corvette racers and builders of all time. This car was named the Fiberglass Flyer by Super Chevy magazine and the purpose of the build was to build a C2 Corvette that performed and handled as good or better than a contemporary C4 Corvette as this build was done in early 1991. For the engine a LS7 454 long block motor was selected. Compression was lowered to 9.25:1 with Speed - Pro pistons and .040 head gaskets. A crane Cam with a longer exhaust duration was used, and a Crane True Roller timing chain was selected. A Weiand Team - G dual plane intake mainfold along with a Holley 750 CFM 8156 carburetor was chosen to get the fuel into the ported open chamber cylinder heads. The original distributor was converted with electronic components and a hidden control module box. The suspension system, both front and rear, were rebuilt. New front coil springs, with one coil cut off, were installed. New rubber A- frame bushings were installed, C3 larger diameter front spindles replaced the original spindles.Urethane bushings were used on the factory front sway bar mounts. New upper and lower A Arms, tie rod ends and a power steering system were installed. The rear suspension was rebuilt with new rubber bushings in the trailing arms, the rear leaf spring was replaced along with new half shafts and adjustable camber rods. New Formula GP shocks were installed. The brake system was completely rebuilt, The calipers were sleeved with stainless steel sleeves, new rotors were installed, new flexible steel braided brake lines were used. The body was repainted with a two stage PPG paint and the details of how the body was prepped for the respray are covered in the magazine write up. Copies of the work invoices, and all 6 Super Chevy Magazines will go with the car to its next care taker. Please call for further information Chris @ 707-688-3932 Mark @ 949-466-5733
