1980 - CAMARO - Z28 - T-Tops
Description
**Quick note - I had two bids last time this was listed and both backed out. If you don't have the money, please don't waste your time or mine.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1980 Chevy Camaro Z28.
I've had this just over a year. Great condition, and it runs and drives great, but I don't know the history on this too well.
What I know:When I bought this I was told the 350 motor was original, though it has clearly has been modified along the way - don't know to what extent, if it's been bored, etc. Research on this is tough, but I think it may be switched out for a '70s truck motor. It has the following numbers cast in it:
Rear Driver Side: 3970010Behind Alternator: V0220TBC
Has RHS 2400 racing heads, cast number 223 7694
Headers installed
Edelbrock Performer 2101 intake
Holley 80457 Carb
Shift kit installed, chirps tires going into 2nd nearly every time
Very fast off the line, and great ride at cruising speeds as well. No distance I'd be afraid to drive this car.
Get a few drops of oil on the garage floor, but haven't noticed any leakage on the stick
Odometer shows 94K and paint is starting to crack in a few spots.I was told it's the original paint and miles, but I suspect that is untrue and it has been through at least one restoration. When I titled car I marked it "Exceeds Limits" because I wasn'tbuying that a car had beenon the road for 37 years and had 90K.
---------------------------I'm going to try to be as thorough as possible describing and photographing flaws.
The issues that I'm aware of are as follows:
-Small crack in grill - as pictured
-Bumper cover has a crack at passenger headlight, and oversprayed in primer
-Several areas where the paint is beginning to crack or is marred
-There is one rust spot that I can find, this is under the car beneath the passenger tail light, on the lower rear tail panel. Floor pans and rocker panels are clean. Inner fenders clean. I don't know what all has been replaced, but it is overall a very solid car.
-Foggy area in glass on rear window passenger side
-AC condenser has been removed
-Crack in center of dash
-Driver seatbelt replaced with a blue one
-Headliner coming down in places
-T-Top leaks at front of driver window in heavy rain or car wash - good elsewhere
-Paint flaking off wheels
-Power locks not hooked up, power windows are slow, but functional
-Alternator belt squeaks when first started.
-Comes with original air cleaner, but won't fit unless the carb is switched out, and has dents in bottom ring where someone along the way didn't realize this.
---------------------------
Overall a super cool, original Z28 that should continue to go up in value, turn heads, and make the driver smile.
Would make a quick & easy project to bring to immaculate condition.
