Description

There was a time in all our lives when we dreamed of owning some fantastic fiberglass like this 1980 Chevrolet Corvette. And why wouldn't you? There aren't many more recognizable cars on the planet, and with an awesome color combination like this, they're also great-looking. If you're looking to have some fun without spending a ton of cash, this Corvette looks very appealing. Looking around, you will note that clean C3 Corvettes are getting harder to find.... Sure, you can always find some tired beater or a botched restoration project, but with prices inching steadily upwards, the best cars are sure to start appreciating. This one is in very good condition, with an older repaint in bright red that still makes the car stand out. The fiberglass is straight with no evidence of accident damage, and the finish is nicely preserved thanks to owners who kept it out of the foul weather. There are a few minor signs of age, which are tough to avoid on a Corvette, but from even five feet away, nobody will be picking nits. Hailing from down south, they also kept it out of the sun, since there's no UV damage on any of the soft parts, and even things like the emblems are still crisp and bright. The T-tops add open-air motoring to this car's resume, and as far as we can tell, the only modifications are the whip antenna and bright chrome side pipes. It's pretty easy to imagine this car in your driveway, isn't it? The tan interior is also nicely preserved. Everything seems to have been replaced not too long ago, with the seats showing only a few signs of use but no major issues. The seating surfaces remain supple and comfortable, and there are no popped seams or splits in the hides. These cars only came one way: loaded, so you get power windows and locks, cold A/C, and a tilt/telescoping steering column. The door panels, carpets, and dash pad are all in very good condition, and we really like the black wheel that goes with the black center console. The gauges appear to have new lenses, and yes, the speedometer is a goofy 85 MPH unit, as if they could convince Corvette owners not to probe the outer limits of their new sports car's performance. The original AM/FM radio has been jettisoned, replaced by a modern high-performance stereo that includes an MTX amplifier, Bazooka subwoofer, and a set of Polk 6x9 speakers in the rear hatch. Under that chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, the engine is a replacement crate 350. Thanks to an aluminum intake manifold and a Rochester four-barrel carburetor, it feels quite a bit more powerful than the original 190 horsepower mill, and delivers entertaining performance. The engine bay is quite tidy, with excellent maintenance and good detailing throughout, including shiny chrome valve covers and bright red plug wires. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and pulls the bright red 'Vette around with ease. The exhaust system consists of those awesome chrome side pipes, which probably add a bunch of horsepower all by themselves; at least it sounds like they do! A 3-speed automatic transmission features a 2000 RPM stall torque converter and a shift kit, which helps make it feel punchy around town. Handsome Corvette alloy wheels wearing 255/60/15 radials round out the performance look. Everybody loves Corvettes, and nothing gets attention better than this brilliant red Stingray. Call today!
