Description

Lets take a trip in my time machine. We all have a love for the past and the great history that brought us to where we are today. Most of us can still remember Mom’s home cooking, grandma’s apple pie and rides in the old Chevy Truck with grandpa on a trip to Ace Hardware. Riding around with the windows down and smelling the breeze as we listened to the family patriarch spin a yarn about how things were way back in the day. Great memories for sure!We can also surely remember the day Uncle Jonny rolled up in that 68 Camaro to show dad what he just traded his 72 Gremlin in on. The sound, oh my that sound, of 8 angels singing in chorus as they injested the high octane nectar of the gods and screamed it out the tailpipes in a melodious torment... followed by the aroma of sizzling Michelins boiling the street beneath you as the back of your head buried in the upholstery and dizziness set in.OK, have I got your attention? Now lets get down to feeding that hunger we just welled up inside of you. What we have here is a beast that checks all the boxes. It plays to every one of your senses.
Sight:
OK, this one should be easy. The body lines of a 53 Chevy 5 window are epic and classic and loved by most any onlooker. The restoration is several years old (2012) but the care and pampering have kept it near pristine. The paint is a gorgeous 2011 stock Chevy Silverado color but the body lines of the 53 really set it off. Panels are strait and solid and besides a very few imperfections will impress anyone, anywhere. The glass is all new as are all the rubber parts. The chrome is all new and the rear valance was added for a hot rod appeal. The leather interior is gorgeous as you can see. I know I have the strange option of a spray in bedliner on the bottom of the bed but please understand I was using this as a truck to visit the hardware store on those previously mentioned trips with my sons. The bed rails and tailgate are also wrapped in clear bra to make sure you never have scratches or chips.
Sound:
You can’t see this one in the pictures but leave no doubt you will be impressed. I installed the Bluepoint Engines Crate 383 stroker about 2 years and 3000 miles ago (3 year warranty). It has 485 hp with aluminum heads, Air gap intake, Serpentine belt set up, HEI spark system, Flowmaster exhaust, aluminum radiator, with dual electric fans, Vintage Air AC and heat, lots of chrome and billet and all run through a built 700R4 column controlled automatic trans that saves highway fuel with a 75mph RPM count of 1800 (runs and shifts flawlessly). All these pieces make one heck of a complete package that spits the sounds of those afore mentioned angels and squealing tires. There is a very nice pioneer bluetooth component stereo system too but I rarely use it because no top 40 beats replaying that heavenly choir, under the hood, over and over again via your right foot controlled volume pedal. Last but not least the sounds of the remote lock system or the keyless engine start from 200 yards away. NICE OPTIONS!!!
Feel:
Not just feelings, I think we stirred those enough already, but the touch of the power leather seats, the silky smooth paint, the incredibly smooth ride of the 4 wheel independent air ride suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes combined with the lope of that stroker motor. The feeling of being COOL, and not just the Air Conditioning! Cool because hundreds of people who pass you by give you the thumbs up. Get use to people taking pictures at stoplights too, it just happens all the time.
Smell:
I know its kind of an abstract but still a very important sense: Gasoline, Hot Rubber, Leather and of course the smell of fresh air from the still functional pop up vent in front of the windshield. The smell of driving into Sonic to enjoy a fresh burger and fries in your amazing classic Hot Rod Truck!
Taste:
Well, if you buy this truck you have taste and everyone you meet will tell you they think you do too. Unless your some strange person who likes to lick your car I can’t help you out with this one. This Truck is un licked so to each his own.Summary:In the end its all about you, do you want to sit that hard earned cash of yours in a Mutual fund and bore out its existence or spend the fruit of your labors on a little sensory overload. It’s still an appreciating asset but when was the last time you drove that portfolio on a Saturday afternoon drive or down to the diner for a Friday evening cruise. There are memories to be made and we just proved together what some of the sweetest ones can and should be. Happy Bidding my Friends!!!
