1989Chevrolet Camaro Convertible IROC Z28
Original unrestored IROC Z28 Convertible. This is a Southern car, there is no rot or rusted out body panels on this almost 29 year old car. It's been off the road since 2007, and has been stored in a heated garage up till about 3 1/2 months ago. It was purchased from the 2nd Owner, who owned it for over 17yrs. This IROC has never been wrecked, salvaged, nor has it been reported for fire or theft issues. It's never been in an accident. 1989 Camaro Convertible IROC Z28~ 5.0 TPI engine, 4spd AT all original, seats 5 adults, ps, pw, pw door locks, tilt, front disc brakes/rear drums, power assist trunk, fog lights, AC, currently has mounted 2005 C5 Vette wheels & tires~18" on front, 19" on rear mounted on 2.25" spacers, sale will include the original 16" Z28 alloy wheels. Has an aftermarket am/fm/cd, new car battery. The undercarriage issurprising clean and normal for a 29yr old car, nothing missing or remarkable. The Hood & Rear truck deck lid appear to have sun fading on paint in images on this auction, its just a reflection of the shade umbrella in the back ground. Also I have the 2 stock grate inserts for the Hood trim included, along with lug nuts and screw on caps.
Its all complete, original suspension, original driveline, its in pretty good condition considering its age. It has a clear title. Currently the Camaro turns over but doesn't start. There is no wiring issues, but I suspect uninvited houseguests made their home in the exhaust, so I'm not or haven't pursued the starting issue to date. Someone will have to sort out the motor, but it was running prior. It's going to need a new soft top, and a new dash pad, and some other routinemechanical related attention~radiator flush, rear pumpkin inspection fresh gear oil, new plugs, convert the AC, replace the hood struts, and repaint the Car,(or not) along with a few minor missing interior parts. It's not leaking any fluids, all body panels, doors hood and rear deck fitment are all original no sagging orunevenness. For whomever is looking for a clean straight rust free 3rd generation IROC Z28 Convertible for cheap and has the time and resources, can have a great ride as these Cars are getting scarce and their value is growing. They're easy to upgrade with many newer Chevy motors or keep the stock 5.0 TPI, either way, whomever considers this IROC won't be disappointed.
Things to consider, You won't be able to shoot starting fluid in it and drive it Home! It's going to have to be trailered. I can assist You with that np. I'm ok allowing the Z28 to be kept here up to 7 days after the auction, provided its paid for in full, and to allow any Buyer to get their transportation needs in order. I won't allow anyone to bring their tools and start working on it it or around my property either. The Title and original keys will be Fedex overnight unless the Buyer wants these in person. Thanks to all who inquired about the IROC Z28 Convertible appreciate your questions. Regarding the 2005 C5 Vette wheels & tires, these wheels are in beautiful condition, and the tires on them are in like new condition.The original IROC Z wheels have tires on them (16") and include the center caps, one tire has a slow leak, and will hold air for a couple days, the other 3 hold air but are weathered & aren't road worthy.Had a couple questions about the car's body, any dings dents, holes etc, and as I stated in the content of the listing, the Car's body is in remarkable good condition, even the paint shines after years of non usage. I will note, that the Camaro was painted black at some point, and judging by its appearance & condition, it is a superb professional job. All RPO codes are available under center arm rest on the console, and a image is included on the posting. Thanks!
