Description

If you have been searching everywhere for that perfect 'Hot Rod', I'm sure by now that you have discovered that a huge majority of them are Fords, Fords & more Fords. Even if you are a diehard blue-oval fanatic, you'll have to admit that it's quite nice to see something different & unique every now and then. Well folks, I've got the special Hot Rod that you have been searching for! 'Red Hills Rods & Classics' is proud to offer you... this absolutely gorgeous 1938 Chevrolet Master Coupe Street Rod! Over $140,000 was invested into creating the 'meanest' '38 Chevrolet Coupe on the planet, and I can safely say that they hit it out of the park! From the custom chassis, to the Ram Jet 502 motor, to the gorgeous plush leather interior, this car simply has the best of everything, period. It all started w/ an original all-steel '38 Chevrolet body that was transformed into a sleek one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Modifications started w/ a progressive chop that lowered the roofline by 3”, and the deck-lid was shortened by 6" w/ a custom roll pan rounding out the smooth back end. While the profile looks ultra-clean and simple, it involved an amazing amount of man-hours to create. First the door handles were shaved, fat fiberglass fenders were installed, and custom steel running boards were fabricated to fill in the space between. Each body panel was massaged to perfection leaving precise gaps all around, and again, the end result of this work was certainly worth the immense amount of effort. A rich black base coat was applied first, underscoring how laser straight the sheet metal below truly is, and then a complex set of traditional flames were applied over the base before everything was buried in several layers of clear for a long-lasting shine. The paint work appears to be a mile-deep w/ a deep lustrous appearance from front to back. A $4,000 custom stainless steel grille was installed flanked by Bosch headlights inside black housings. The goal was a clean super-aggressive look so the heavy front bumper was removed, but the split hood remains in place, aided visually by louvers and flames. The greenhouse offers a custom V-butt windshield alongside custom tinted glass (not film). The vent windows were deleted for a more modern look, while all new trim fills out the spaces in between. Follow the sloped deck-lid down to the beautifully finished rear, capped off by the aforementioned roll pan, which hosts flush mounted Hagan tail lights and a frenched license plate recess. A pair of Megs chrome exhaust tips peek out below. The beautifully detailed undercarriage shows just as nice as the topside of the car. The foundation is a custom chassis which utilizes a Mustang II style front-end w/ chrome tubular A-arms, coil-over shocks, and power rack-and-pinion for easy steering. The rear is supported by a polished parallel 4-link w/ a second set of coil-overs. A tried & true GM 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission takes care of shifting duties, finished off w/ a chrome pan and dust cover. Power hits the pavement through a limited-slip Ford 9" rear-end w/ 3.50 gears. It's a heavy-duty setup and thanks to plenty of glossy black paint, the undercarriage strikes the perfect balance between show and go. 4-wheel power disc brakes easily rein in the 502ci powerplant w/ the brake booster tucked away underneath the car w/ all lines running neatly along the frame rails. This Coupe has the perfect stance, while sitting on 15" Boyd Coddington five-spoke mag wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes ST radial tires (P275/60/R15 on the rear & P215/65/R15 up front). Pop open the driver's door and you will find a surprisingly plush interior that will put a huge smile on your face. Features include: bowtie-branded door sill plates, dark grey leather Chrysler bucket seats w/ six-way power driver seat, matching dark grey door panels w/ billet handles, dark grey carpeting throughout, black leather dash pad, painted dash w/ full set of black-faced VDO gauges, tilt-steering column, modern 3-spoke wrapped billet steering wheel, Dakota Digital cruise control, custom black center console, power windows, B&M ratchet shifter, Sanden air conditioning, parking brake, seats belts on both sides, and a Sony CDX-1200 AM/FM/CD sound system w/ (4) hidden speakers. This elegant interior is visually stunning as well as highly functional, and all interior components are in perfect working order. No matter what your size, the adjustable power seat & tilt steering column allow you to fit inside comfortably. Under the flamed & louvered split hood, this coupe stays true to its GM heritage w/ a Ram Jet 502ci/502hp crate motor that is fully dressed for show. Topped by an 11" fuel-injected manifold, this massive modern motor makes a ton of power & torque while looking awesome in the process. The foundation is a cast iron GM block w/ components such as a forged crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons, forged rods, and a roller camshaft. Aluminum oval-port heads allow for deep breathing, and the fuel injection system keeps everything smooth & reliable. Straight from the crate, these engines are good for 502hp w/ 565 Lbs./Ft. Torque, so you won't have to worry about getting outrun by anything short of a Funny Car! Presentation is equally impressive thanks to pieces like the polished intake, chrome alternator, and custom flamed valve covers. A quick look at the accessory drive shows that this beast has both power steering and air conditioning, while the custom-built Hays radiator w/ an engine-drive fan keeps the big-block running nice & cool. Exhaust is disposed of by a pair of custom ceramic coated headers that bolt up to a 3" stainless exhaust system. She fires up instantly, idles nice & smooth, but a quick tap of the accelerator unleashes that tremendous big-block sound. The 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission shifts smooth & super tight like a brand new car. This '38 Chevy Coupe runs & drives beautifully in every way and is an absolute blast to drive w/ power & torque to spare. A lot of cars claim to be the total package, but this '38 Chevrolet actually lives up to that claim! With stunning good looks, performance for days, and reliability that will allow you to drive her anywhere at any time, well there is simply not many Street Rods out there that can compete. Again, if you are searching for something unique that will blow away the competition, I believe that I have your car!
