Description
Hello, up for auction is my 65 Impala SS, the car is a real SS born in Tarrytown NY. The original color according to the vin plate (V) which is Cameo Beige with saddle interior code (862). The car is a 283 car but someone transplanted a 350, but has the original power glide transmission. The original 10 bolt non posi is still in the car. The car starts right up has good oil pressure and doesnt run hot. Has new front wheel cylinders and good drums and shoes all around and has a nice brake pedal. Idler arm is a bit sloppy, lateral arms could use new bushings, and pitman arm is a bit sloppy. The trans works fine, drove it around the block a few times, even the speedometer works. I got the car with the new quarters, rear inner wells, panel between rear glass and trunk lid, and drivers side rocker already done. All sheet metal was from Hubbards impala parts. Previous owner installed a very solid drivers door. The car is very solid, chassis is perfect, floors very nice especially where they meet the rockers. The trunk does need attention, but is not even close to being a disaster. The complete 3 piece replacement is included with the car thats worth about $400. Fuel tank and and lines are in great shape. The car could use rear springs and shocks, brake lines are also in good shape. Up front the passenger door has a rot spot, all door jambs are very clean. Fire wall all the way down is great, body mount areas are super clean. Radiator support is in great shape, battery area is very clean. Front fenders lower patch panels need to be re skinned, passenger fender lower extension is no good. Hood, roof, nose and bumpers is in great shape. all glass is good as well. I have all of the trim for the car, rear trunk emblem, SS emblem for the trunk too. I have some weather stripping, extra taillights, drivers glass. The interior was partially done with the wrong color which is fawn. The headliner, visors, rug, seat belts were replaced. The original dash pad is cracked, but looks ok has a new glove box liner. The vacuum gauge and volts, gas, temp, and oil is there. Has a new auto custom sound radio, dash speaker and rear speaker behind the impala crest. The seats are in ok shape, drivers and passenger front seats need the lower foam and possibly the lower spring frames. The original console is in the car and is in very nice shape, has the SS front emblem but no console clock. The heater blower motor works, front and rear lights work, trunk lid has a new harness. I have another set of front markers but not installed. The body work that it will need is the trunk weather strip rails on the lower part of the body, a trunk lid, lower portion is rotted, passenger door has rot, passenger fender lower extension rotted to support rod, lower fenders need to be skinned. Overall the car is definitely worth finishing not junk stuck in the mud, its a real SS. THIS IS A PROJECT CAR, I DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING IT HOME, THINGS HAPPEN. THERE IS NO WARRANTY, SOLD AS IS. HAS A CLEAN NY REGISTRATION. NO TITLE WITH THIS CAR, NYS ONLY GIVES A TRANSFERRABLE REGISTRATION ON 72 AND OLDER VEHICLES. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK, $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN 48HRS, THE CAR CAN EITHER BE PICKED UP OR I WILL HOLD IT HERE AFTER FULL PAYMENT IS CLEARED UNTIL THE BUYERS SHIPPING COMPANY ARRIVES WITHIN REASON. INSPECTIONS ARE WELCOMED. I HAVE DESCRIBED THE CAR TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. ODOMETER SAYS 66,015. Please note I removed the interior today to take pics of the floor, the rug is out, console, and front seats are laid in. Ended auction again TODAY 9/30/18 to put new pics with corvette rally AZ code 15x8 in rear and 15x7 up front, tires are pretty much brand new. SORRY I DO NOT WANT TO KEEP ENDING AND AGGRAVATING FELLOW EBAYERS, JUST WANT A GREAT DESCRIPTION WITH A MORE APPEALING CAR.
