Description

This 1987 Chevrolet C10 pickup is what you might get if you decided to take a pickup truck road racing. With a cool lowered stance, strong-running V8, and an attractive charcoal gray paint job, it's got an unusual look that totally works to give it a performance vibe. This truck uses subtlety to its advantage, carrying the charcoal gray paint to give it a low profile but it also stands out just because it's so nicely done. It's got a clean look that seems a lot more customized than it is and it holds up under scrutiny. Despite the low, wide look, the bodywork is completely stock, right down to the original badges and even the factory hood ornament. No cowl induction hood, no shaved handles, just a clean factory look that makes the lowering job look even more impressive. The factory grille was painted black, and we have to admit we like the look, but everything else is OEM. Chrome bumpers really pop against the gray paint and one look in the bed proves that this truck never really had to work for a living. The interior is largely stock, starting with a nicely reupholstered bench seat with two-tone cloth and vinyl that is surprisingly comfortable. New black carpets and gray door panels also offer an OEM look and feel. A two-spoke factory steering wheel should look and feel familiar, as do the original gauges set deep into round pods ahead of the driver. This truck is loaded with options, including cold factory A/C, power windows and locks, a tilt steering column, and cruise control, so it's comfortable enough to drive every day. All the factory instruments are fully functional and even the dash pad is brand new. The factory AM radio is still in the dash, which is kind of surprising, but that's also an opportunity for an upgrade for the next owner. It's clean, tight, and ready to use, but also ready for a few well-chosen upgrades to really take it up a notch. The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8 that's pretty stock, but even so it's plenty to make the relatively lightweight pickup a blast to drive. Fitted with a factory air cleaner and snorkel, the stock throttle-body fuel injection system works quite well, and everything else is OEM and that means reliable and easy to service. It starts easily and idles smoothly from the start thanks to the wonders of electronics and history has already proven that these are some of the most bulletproof machines ever built. It's backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and stock rear end with highway-friendly gears inside, so it's a fantastic highway cruiser and actually pulls down decent fuel economy, too. The restrictive stock exhaust is gone, replaced by a throaty dual exhaust setup that sounds fantastic and the stock suspension has been lowered to give it that crouching stance. Oversized Boss Motorsports wheels offer a cool industrial-strength look and are wrapped in fat 255/40/18 performance radials. A cool truck with a lot of time and effort invested in the look and nothing done that would hurt reliability or the ability to use it every day. And that's why we love this Chevy. Call today!
