Description

If you're a rodder with a family, perhaps a fat-fendered '40s piece like this 1948 Chevrolet sedanette might be just what you're looking for. It offers the timeless good looks that made GM in the 1940s the envy of the world, a reliable small block V8 under the hood, and a spacious, comfortable interior that's the ideal place to spend some time on the road. The sweeping fenders and fastback profile on this 1948 Chevy just lend themselves perfectly to a high-impact paint treatment, which is both a tribute to the cars that came before and the flashy '50s that would follow. Turning the usual subtlety upside-down, the bright orange paint highlights some of this car's most interesting features. Of course, the work is nicely done, attractive enough to get a second glance at shows, and thanks to modern paint technology, it's durable enough to hit the road without a second thought. Some of the more popular tricks have been worked with the steel, including shaved door handles and trim, twin antennas, molded-in fenders, and a Vee'd windshield. The chrome that does remain, including the grille, bumpers, dual spotlights, and window moldings, has all been refinished to sparkle against the paint. If you want some attention, just try cruising for an afternoon in this Chevy. This Chevy's interior is one of those that combines the original design and some OEM touches that give it an entirely new look. The gorgeous two tone bucket seats and center console really update the vintage Chevy yet look like they've always been there. The rear bench was lightly massaged to fit in the narrower Chevy coupe bodywork, but the overall look is polished and professionally finished. The original dashboard remains intact although it was filled and painted tan to match the interior, and custom door panels were stitched together to give it a finished look. Custom VDO instruments have vintage-looking faces and fonts, so it has a classic look with modern reliability, and the A/C vents and controls have been very neatly integrated into the overall design. A tilt column with a billet steering wheel, a trick headliner seat belts, and lots of sound insulation all add to the cruising comfort this car offers. There's also a great-sounding JVC AM/FM/CD stereo system, and the very spacious trunk is fully upholstered with a removable panel for battery access. The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8, the perfect choice when your plan is to hit the road. For a little extra power, there's an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching polished manifold up top and the finned valve covers and matching air cleaner look great with matching orange inserts. Polished accessories are stacked tight to the block and service access is quite good, and everything from the wiring to the power steering and brake systems have been replaced. The smoothed firewall really makes it look clean and there's a giant aluminum radiator up front that has no problem keeping it cool. A 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and a 10-bolt rear make for a reliable powertrain, and a new gas tank hangs out back. Wilwood disc brakes look great poking through the spokes of the chrome Torque Thrust wheels, which wear 205/60/15 front and 225/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. Fully sorted and with a great look that will win fans everywhere it goes, this Chevy deserves a closer look if you love to drive your hardware. Call today!
