1936 Chevrolet Street Rod Hot Rod
Description
This is a very well built older street rod. It may be an older build, but it still looks great and it was done in a timeless color combination. None of those pastel colors like you see so often on the older builds. Car has only had 11,579 miles put on it since it was built. Barely broken in.
Body: Started with a totally rust free car. This is an all steel car including running boards. Cowl vent still works. Paint is base coat clear coat 1995 -1998 GM Cyclamen Dark Purple Metallic code # 05. It was definitely show quality when new, but there are some road chips, and one small 1" crack in the paint / skim coat glazing filler at the bottom of the right front fender. ( see pics ) I could have touched it up, but I did not want to hide anything. I have about a third of a gallon of the paint left over in the original can it came in. The 3" chop was professionally done. It is perfect in every way. Doors close like a new car. Windows roll up and down as they should. Both door windows have a small crack from top to bottom at the handle end of the door. Almost identical? Not worth replacing in my eyes. Hood sides open and close perfectly. Chrome is all very good. Grille is very good. All locks work with keys. One of the things I really like about this car is that it is so simple. No door poppers to go bad. No electric window motors to go bad. All lights work. Wipers even work, although they are still vacuum operated. Weather stripping is all very nice. Sound deadening sheets installed under the carpeting. Very quiet inside while driving.
Interior: Again, professionally done in tweed and still very nice. The color compliments the paint very well. All Stewart Warner gauges work as they should. Very nice stereo system in glove box. Vintage heat and A/C that works very well. Tilt steering column. Lokar shifter.
Mechanical: Rebuilt 350 small block. Rebuilt 700 R4 automatic with over drive. Mustang II rack and pinion front suspension. Ford 9" rear end with highway gears siting on leaf springs. Car can cruise all day long at 70 to 80 miles per hour and not use much gas. Poor steering and brakes. Disc up front, drums in the rear. All new tires. Block hugger headers with full aluminized exhaust. Nice throaty sound but not too loud.American Racing wheels.
I amprobably forgetting to list something, so PLEASE call with questions before you hit the place bid key. I will givehonest answers to all questions.
All in all. This is a very nice car that you can drive any distance without worry. It has the perfect stance and a fantastic over all appearance. The wheels and tires fit the wheel openings perfectly. Fly in and drive it home. I amabout45minutes from the St. Louis airport. For shipping, or in person pickup, use Fenton, MO 63206.
