1968 Chevy C10/K10 4x4
Description
This is my very own personal 1968 K10 Custom Chevrolet pickup that has underwent a no-expense-spared nut and bolt frame off restoration with every nut and bolt removed and replaced to better than new condition. This an SPID and VIN matching original 1968 K10 4x4 factory short bed. Every body panel was stripped to bare metal both front and back. Very minimal rust was replaced with custom fabricated patch panels and coated with epoxy primer before body work began. The truck was then sanded smooth to perfection and gap checked before being coated in Dupont Chromabase Victory Red base and clear coat. After which the clear coat was wet sanded in incremental stages before being buffed and polished to the deep shine evident in the pictures below. All of this was over 5 years ago; in which time the truck has been meticulously maintained and professionally detailed twice to preserve the deep luster you see today. The bed was in near perfect condition upon restoration and was covered in Rhino lining to keep the truck bed both use able and durable. The whole underside of the truck and frame was sanded to bare metal and epoxy coated before being top coated in semi-gloss black. The running gear consist of a rebuilt Dana 44 front axle, and a rebuilt GM 12 bolt rear axle with 3:73 gears, matted to a rebuilt NP205 transfer case. All bearings and axle seals have been replaced along with new rear drum brakes and new front disc brakes. All of this sitting on a 6" lift with 35x12 BFG Goodrich Mud Terrain tires with polished aluminum weld wheels to create an aggressive but appealing look while cruising down the road. All exterior moldings/tailights/running lights/and bumpers are new and of high quality. The interior of the truck has been completely disassembled and replaced with new seals/carpet/sound deadner/dash pad/mirrors etc. The heater core was completely rebuilt to provide reliable and long lasting heat on those evening drive homes from car shows and cruises. The sound system in this truck is powered by a USB compatible Pioneer Stereo Deck with an under dash mounted speaker and custom made speakers/subs under the seat to provide adequate tunes while headed down the road. Power in this custom K10 originates from a rebuilt 350 with an aluminium intake and edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor mounted to a rebuilt TH350 automatic transmission. This truck cruises very comfortably with power steering and power disc brakes and sounds great with custom dual exhaust running through glass packs to give it that hot rod sound; which I prefer over the magnaflow or flowmaster mufflers, for old trucks and cars. No expense was spared on this restoration and if you know about these trucks and what people are asking for "AutoBarn" quick flips; then you know this truck stands out in a crowd and is listed fairly and reasonably. I am only selling so that I can move onto my next project truck. For serious and interested parties I can provided additional information along with videos and photos of the title/VIN/ SPID to confirm this is an original K10 shortbed truck. Thanks for looking
