Description

1970 Nova SS

This is one of my cars out of my collections. It is titled in my name and does run and drive.

The car has a rebuilt 454 from 1978. The car runs excellent. It is super tight.Engine bay looks rough, but it needs some love. The engine is “fresh”.With the new mufflers and cam in the engine, it has a great sounding lope. Transmission seems to be stock. Does not rev-up to engage, so do not think there is a high rpm stall converter. The car has a 12 bolt rear end and there are also sub frame connectors.

The body on the car is super clean. If you look at the trunk pictures, you will see no rust. The rocker panels are just as clean.I took pictures of the door jambs on both sides and the cowl mount and you will see no rust. The money shot is when I pulled back the carpet and it is spotless. See the picture.

I identified chrome for the front windshield, back windshield, vinyl top, and the side moldings. There is a lot of chrome there. With the majority there, it shouldn’t be tough to pick up something if it is missing.

I purchased it from a younger driver with big aspirations and not much skill driving a Big Block. He whipped it around and banged up the front left corner.

Mechanical Repairs:

Replaced the core support,

Repaired a core on the heavy duty radiator

Installed new sub frame bushings

Replaced the Mufflers

Aligned the front end

Body Work:

I put on a used left fender

used left hood hinge

used SS Hood

used front bumper

New hood latch filler panel

I do have the back bumper.I needed to take it off, because the gap on the quarter to the trunk was nice enough. I opened up the quarter and re-welded it.Now it has a pretty decent gap. This work was done on the right rear side.

What I see it needs:I have part of the grille, it will need a radiator reservoir, windshield wiper resivoir, rt angle PCV Valve, bushings in door pins, possible a hood latch. The right rear rim has a small bend to it. That could be taken out by dismounting the tire and straightening it. Street tires on the front, street slicks on the back.

The car has the center counsel and gages. All the gages look to be in operating condition! There is a Dash Tachometer and it works. The red line on the Tachometer looks to be for a 350.

If you look at my history, I have sold several cars this summer.I have been motivated to move some, because I am building a new pole barn. I taught Tech Ed for 30+ years and have built cars for longer than this. That is why a lot of work has been done on the car. In a normal situation, I would now proceed to doing the body work and painting the car. I usually take them up to painted, drive them for a year and sell them.

This is a good chance to get into a driving project. All the hard work has been done. This car does not need to be dis-assembled and restored. It has very good bones.Hang the bumpers, pick up a couple missing parts and you will have yourself a street legal driver. You could change out the gears and race it.It will be a good toy for someone.

Clear title, in my name.

I reserve the right to end the auction early.Bid to buy, not to look.I require a $200 non refundable deposit at the end of the auction. I have sold car internationally.Check with your shipping carrier first, than bid. Call for more info Tim763-245-6507Central Time Zone.
