Description

This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible hits all the high notes: a powerful V8, four-speed manual transmission, and rumbling side exhaust that sound so sweet when enjoying droptop fun. A great classic Corvette is about getting all of the original pieces right and then adding some classic flair. That's what's so alluring about this C3 droptop. It starts with the factory-correct code-974 Monza Red. The bold color and the racing name perfectly fits this classic's sporty image. Plus, the panels have the fit of good care right down to the smooth headlight flaps and the doors you can shut with authority. These earlier C3s are also for the brightwork lovers, and so the thin bumpers shine like new, and the Rally wheels have a terrific vintage flair (especially with the period-correct Wide Oval tires.) But you might have also noticed this Stingray has a dark side that goes beyond the crisp black folding roof. They added a wicked set of side pipes that can almost pass for subtle with their black paint. Of course, there's nothing understated about the enhanced growl they make. If you like the dark elements on the outside, then you'll love the factory-correct black interior. In fact, since a convertible is meant to be open to the world, there is arguably no better color combo than the black against the red. The rich darkness of the panels and carpeting allow the silver accents to pop on everything from three-spoke steering wheel, to the power window switches, to the original AM/FM radio. This is a driver's machine, and so that means bucket seats, a large speedo & tach, a full gauge auxiliary panel, and a stick shift that begs for your right hand. Under the hood is a 350 cubic-inch V8 finished in Chevy's legendary orange. You can see it so well because of the tidy engine bay. More than just look nice, this mighty V8 has been upgraded with pieces like a HEI ignition an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. And as we mentioned before, you'll fall in love/lust with the sound this motor makes when singing through the side pipes. Best of all, you're in complete control of this high-horsepower symphony thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Corvettes like these are one of the few classics that are terrific on any open road. After all, the power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and fully independent sports suspension makes this a superior vintage handler. This is quite a nice car, and the consignor even state the ultra-low mileage is actual! So it's a great driver with a great story to tell. Don't let this true sports car slip away, call today!
