1986 CHEVROLET CAMARO IROC Z28 305 TPI Marooon ALL ORIGINAL!!

Description

This is an 1986 IROC Z Burgundy Maroon in all original condition. Unmolested. Every part on this car came from the factory. Nothing has been removed or upgraded. Even has the California Emissions set up smog pump etc. Fully loaded car. California Emissions and smog pump there. Clean CT title.
It was running in August 2018 before the battery went dead. I started it daily.
Here is what needs to be done:
65,000 all original miles. It's been stored inside a CT garage since 2006 until this summer.
Engine - not much....in August it ran and drove. It was missing 2 belts when I got it. I removed the radiator and replaced the hoses, gotten a brand new cap, tested it for leaks and and flushed it out. I also just bought a factory refurb BOSCH alternator $155. I bought all new belts, polyurethene rocker cover gaskets $55, thermostat has been replaced.
But, because I'm not a mechanic I was not able to get the rocker cover cover out. I got it off the studs but not out. It's catching on part of the smog system plumbing which I am unfamiliar with and goes into the bulkhead. I didnt want to mess with it. So that needs to be removed completely and gaskets replaced. I have all the parts. I have no clue whats under pressure, and coolant etc.. so it scared me.
Body - nice shape overall. One corner in pass. rear quarter panel, at the front bottom corner water pooled and rotted the metal. I can put a small rock to plug hole (see pic). Drivers side floor has a round spot rot hole the size of my hand under carpet. Surface rust spot on rear drivers quarter above fiberglass molding. (that can be sanded down ez). Hood has some surface rust on point edge, where paint loss is. Needs a paint job. In the photo there is a rusty spot above passenger rear quarter panel. That I sanded down and put rust remedy over. Trunk floor is rock solid.
Will need all around new weatherstripping. As I believe the trunk hatch is leaking water into the rear floors. Which are solid as far as I can tell. The interior is out except the drivers side seat and carpet. I removed it all because the mouse smell needs to be vacuumed. But until the weather stripping is replaced, I cant vaccuum and shampoo the floor. To boot all this the car is parked on a hill, my driveway making it very difficult to work on.
It will need to be towed away. or could possibly let you put it back together in my driveway if you want to have a go at it. Then it is driveable.
I have 1 of the glass fog lenses. It needs the other, and the metal brackets to hold them on and bulbs.
Shock towers and engine mounts are on solid metal.
The rear third brake light I repainted black and epoxied the plastic holes the cover is screwed down on as this part always brakes on these. Can be drilled and screwed in now easily to attach cover.
Tires held air for months but now went flat. But they should work fine to drive it for a few days.
Rims are all original. Brand new Tune Port Injection badge for rear bumper. Unattached. All center black IROC labeled covers are there.
Needs dash pad and headliner.
I have the build sheet from the factory, the air compressor hand held and the spare tire all original. And the instructions sheet!!! you never see these accessories.
An original IROC leather steering wheel is included, with a brand new leather replacement cover and thread and youtube video how to do it yourself for free. Very simple.The interior console has a broken cover. it is there though. Could be repaired.
I have not seen this car on a lift. I bought it, drove it 100 feet off the tow truck into my driveway in April 2018 and its been sitting ever since. So condition of suspension, exhaust, brakes, is unknow. Although I think the brakes are stopping the car as I put it in neutral on my hill and it was strong held stopped. There is an exhaust I can see it when I look under.
It has the 305 TPI Tune Port Injection Injected, V8, automatic.
The red interior is cosmetically in excellent shape. Back seats and back rest look never used. Front seats had covers on them and are incredible underneath. Very comfortable. No divots due to fat asses.
The controls for heat were not working. May be fuse or worse if not. Never got that far.
Has brand new hood gas struts.
I have a battery that will be fully charged upon pick up.
T tops are in nice shape. the metal frames on the body are a little rusty, (under the weatherstripping).
I put photos of engine before I removed those parts and after as it looks now. with 1 rocker cover needing to be pulled out. it is free of posts.
Comes with an original AC Delco radio that needs to be put it and a CB radio that works!
