Description

Join the fun in this affordable classic! It has tons of vintage good looks and lots of originality with a few updates like a 12-volt electrical system that provide better lighting, easier starting, and a modern stereo for your listening pleasure. History buffs might appreciate that this car spans the war. This '47 model was an update of the pre-war '42 so that Chevy could quickly meet the demands of a country ready to get back to having fun. Check it out. If you look at the car from the front, it looks like the car itself is even having a good time. The chrome grill of horizontal lines underlined by a gently curved front bumper make it look like its smiling. The Maroon paint might make you think about fall foliage rides in the country. Headlights perched on the front fenders have body colored trim rings with a delicate ring of chrome around the inside with 5 bars of chrome dressing up the edges on each side. The long, tapered hood has an ornament on the front of it and the split windshield is a cool throwback feature. From the side, the lines of the car are defined by those awesome fenders and the way the body flows smoothly down over the trunk. Chrome trim protects the rocker panels and the leading edge of the rear fenders. A chrome latch enables access to a huge trunk and it's all underlined by another chrome bumper. You will be rolling in style inside this car! Open the door and you will find a very comfortable interior upholstered in mauve with maroon and chrome accents. The door panel sets the look with maroon across the top, a mauve center with chrome window and door hardware, and a splash of tan along the bottom that matches the carpeting. Slide in and settle into the split bench seat and then reach out to wrap your hands around the big three spoke steering wheel with the Chevy bowtie center button. The column and the dash span the generations but stay true to a simple and practical theme. There is an old school blinker assembly and simple, exposed shifter mechanism for the 3-speed automatic trans. The center of the dash is vintage chrome with Chevrolet in script embossed along the bottom. That is complimented by a set of modern gauges to keep accurate tabs on engine functions as well as a Retrosound stereo and Sondpex speakers, and it sounds sweet! Open the hood and you find a 216 cubic inch, in-line 6-cylinder motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. This is the motor that would grow up, and get hopped up, to become the Blue Flame engine used in the original Corvettes. Pretty cool, huh? This one is showing those urges already with a free flow chrome air filter assembly and a chrome Edelbrock valve cover adding a bit of flash. The 12-volt upgrade includes a battery and alternator so that a more powerful starter can crank this car right up, and so that an MSD ignition system can provide good hot spark. An aluminum radiator keeps things running cool and the power flows back through that automatic transmission to a solid rear axle mounted on leaf springs. A control arm front suspension with coil springs has new sway bar links to help the car handle well and the rubber meets the road through 245/45R17s in the back and 225/50R17s in the front all mounted on sweet looking Ridler wheels. Vintage good looks and few modern updates for performance and enjoyment. This car is ready to roll. It's just looking for a driver who wants to roll with it. Would that be you?
