1949 Chevrolet Deluxe panel truck not sedan delivery
Description
You are bidding on a 1949 Chevrolet Deluxe Panel Truck. This is an incredible original panel truck that was originally sold new in Anaheim California. The majority of its life was spent in southern California and the condition shows it. I have owned this since 2007 and have always kept it indoors in a heated building. It rarely gets driven. Deluxe Chevrolet Panels are hard enough to find, let alone one that is in original, unrestored condition like this one.
Mechanical: Recent tune and brake overhaul. Motor runs great and does not smoke. I was told the motor was rebuilt by a previous owner. Suspension and steering are good. Tires are at least 10 years old, but have very little wear on them. Gauges all work, as do lights. This is a heater delete, as was typical for southern California vehicles of this era.
Body: The miles shown are 94,000. While I cannot verify if they are original miles, the condition overall matches the miles. Look at the photos carefully. I believe that 75% or better of the paint on it is what it left the factory with. The belt line pinstripe is faded but original! There are small dings, chips and scratches all over. The paint has areas that are thin with primer showing through, mostly on the hood and front fenders. I have the steel panel that goes between the body and rear bumper. It is New Old Stock. I had intended to have the area under the rear doors straightened and have the filler panel painted and installed at the same time. I never got around to it... I will include the NOS panel I have. The wheels were powder coated and pin striped when new tires were installed. No rust. This may be the cleanest, rust free Chevrolet panel you will ever find. The logo was professionally hand painted about 15 years ago by a previous owner. All glass appears to be original showing wear consistent with the age. All of the Deluxe trim is on the truck and is original to it. Even the hard to find rear window stainless! Door windows roll up and down fine, however it could use new rubber seals and anti-rattle kits.
Interior: Overall very clean. The only changes are the original seats were reconditioned. The frames were repainted and cushions were recovered with original style material. Dash, steering wheel and gauges are all original. Dash paint is faded. Horn does not work. All gauges do work. Interior paint is original with the exception of the inside of the drivers door. As best as I can tell, a repair was done at some time and they painted the door panel black. The original chrome inside door window frames have dull chrome and small stress cracks. Headliner is original and shows age. Cargo area paint is original and in great condition.
Terms of sale: $500.00 deposit due via PayPal immediately if you are the winning bidder. Balance due by cash or bank wire within 72 hours. No personal checks or money orders. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I can keep the truck in my heated warehouse up to 30 days after auction, but it must be paid for according to my terms.
NO TRADES. Please don't ask if I will take a trade. I'm not a dealer, just a collector who is downsizing. Please bid only if you fully intend to buy and have the funds available. I will not take payments. If you have low feedback I reserve the right to cancel your bid unless you contact me first.
