1962 Corvette red/red 4-speed, runs great.
Description
I think I'll be selling my Corvette, poor car just sits anymore, covered in the garage. After looking for a red/red 4 gear car for almost two years priced in the 50's I found this one, with period correct engine. That's fine, no nonsense about re-stamped this & that, I wanted a car to drive.
The car starts the first click of the key, excellent shifting, no funny engine noises, doesn't leak all over the floor, brakes work great, idles perfect, no smoke. No clutch issues. All the fluids are up to date, last mechanical ill it developed was a hesitation when stepping on the throttle. Turns out it was the acceleration pump, which was changed just this week, the carburetor had a kit installed.
It's a car you should be proud of, she's a good looker, no cracked paint, no gouges no busted fiberglass, no scrapes, and it shines like a new penny. You will not have to do any paint work on this car or engine work. Differential is super quiet.Interior wise, no splits cracks or rips, the red interior is super nice, carpet is great. The top has no rips or tears & the material is fine, latches down appropriately.
Wipers don't work, I think I have a couple wiper motors in the parts box along with some other things. Radio doesn't work too.
Like I said I wanted an as original looking car as possible in red/red. I hate, really hate all the corvettes for sale with that stupid Hurst shifter sticking up like that, so ugly. Here are my prerequisites when buying:
Red/red.Original made 4 gear car, none of that conversion stuff.Factory wheel, skinny tires.Must have the original shifter I hate those stupid aftermarket shifters.Must be a car I don't have to work on or have to fix anything. Turn key ready to go.Tachometer must work and NOT be an aftermarket stupid looking something or other.Close to show car if possible, but again a car that was turn key.No alternator conversion, I wanted the generator. No race cam, no headers, ignition & plug shielding a must. Original appearing engine.
Here it is. That was a few years ago, other than fluilds, and carburetor kit, it's been great.
To speak directly send your phone & best time to call. Not interested in sending to a Dealer for consignment. I like the car, costs nothing to have it.
With response to questions, YES the hood closes completely, will post another pic. Thkx
