Description

1966 Chevelle SS396 Survivor
This car is a true survivor wearing its original Tuxedo Black paint with original interior and original drivetrain. Cars such as this one don't come along very often. Its also a rare color combination having a Tuxedo Black exterior with blue interior. Its a factory Muncie m20 4 speed car. 396/325 hp. 3.31 posi. Bench seat. Knee knocker tach. Remote mirror. Retractable seat belts. Am radio with rear speaker and rear antenna. Sold new in Minn, I was told the car has been garage kept since new. By the looks of it, I wouldn't doubt it. It runs, rides and drives very tight and is a joy to drive. To me, nothing drives as well as a well taken care of original car that's never been apart and is still the way it was built by the factory, not restored once, twice or three times. The paint shows blemishes throughout but is in remarkable condition for its ago. The interior is all original as well, including the carpet. It is in very good condition. The plastic is still on the rear seat and the front plastic was removed in recent years. Gauges etc all work.As mentioned, the drivetrain is also original with original block, heads, carb, intake, exhaust manifolds, dist, radiator, trans, rear end and more! The exhaust manifolds still have the factory orange overspray on them! Here is a list of part numbers from major components. If theres a specific part(s) in questions please ask and Ill get those for you. The car currently doesn't have the correct hoses, clamps, battery cables, T3 headlights or radio installed (has old tape player that works in it). All of which is included to make this car extremely original and correct. Tires are bias ply with an old Remington bias ply spare. I can take more pics if needed. As with any classic, if at all possible come see in person. I will be happy to show it during the course of the auction. I can also be reached at threeoneseven 667 62 4O with questions. Thank you for all the interest. This is the first and only place the car has been advertised in quite awhile and its definitely on track to sell. The underside is the way the factory did it. There has been no patches, touching up or painting or undercoating to the bottom of the car. It remains in its "natural" state as does the trunk floor. Cars like these don't come along often. As one survivor collector told me yesterday, they are bought and tucked away for many years. Combine that with tuxedo black on blue with a 4 speed! Its been said a million times, but it certainly rings true: you can restore a car a thousand times but its only original once! Good luck to all that Ive spoken to and all the other bidders waiting to the end of the auction, because it looks as if shes gonna have a new home!
