Description

Confidence is cool, and patina shows a self-assurance that's becoming red-hot right now. But joining this crowd doesn't have to mean giving up creature comforts. This 1956 Chevrolet 3100 is actually fresh from a recently finished restoration, and there's only 19 miles on the whole build. So beyond the tough appearance hides some exciting modern conveniences, including A/C, updated chassis, lowered suspension, and a fuel-injected V8. This body is all about being secretly rewarding. The solid 1956 Chevrolet 3100 has been sprayed to look like it has spent a lifetime being a workhorse. The light blue paint was purposely and professionally worn down into patina. The white paint on the bumpers, side mirrors, and grille in place of chrome adds to this truck's feeling of industrial roots. But just even from the first impression, you know this pickup has a secret. There's evidence of plenty of expensive work in places like the premium lumber in the truck bed. And those BOSS black torque-thrust style wheels are only reserved for the best pickups. Get closer and you'll start to notice the new glass with new rubber seals that makes this a much more weather tight truck than first appearance might suggest. Open the door, and the pickup takes on a new attitude. It swings open with the kind of precision and strength that reminds you how recent the restoration was completed and how deceptive the worn-look paint really is.The interior is one place where this truck shows off. It has a similar blue and white to the exterior, but it looks as fresh the day this Chevy left the factory in 1956. The bench seat is out of a later full-size Chevy truck, and the vinyl has been recovered in a matching custom tuck and roll. The color scheme is repeated on the door panels, headliner, and dash for a true uniform appearance. You sit behind a three-spoke sports steering wheel and gaze at a new Auto Meter gauge cluster with critical info for oil pressure, water temperature, battery power, fuel, and speed. Other modern conveniences include a tilt column, power outlets, and an AM/FM stereo that looks correct with its knob style appearance but is really a modern tuner with an iPod connection. Plus, the ice-cold air conditioning is the kind of feature everyone loves!Once you open the hood, you'll see how stealthy this body really is. That's a fuel-injected 5.3-liter V8 borrowed from a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. It's been given additional upgrades including, an aluminum radiator, performance air breather, and a rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust. You can see how fresh this build is just by the shine on the pipes, and new gas tank in the undercarriage photos. And while you're looking at those, you'll spot the chassis from a later model Chevy C10 that was sanded and painted before the body and cab was ever installed. This upgrade also means a much more comfortable independent front suspension. And comfort is what this restomod offers in spades. With the four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, front disc brakes, power steering, and cruise control, you know this one eats up the miles as good as a modern truck. This Chevy has an amazing attitude that tells the world you have a different definition of cool. If you like workman preservation appearance with all the right creature comforts beneath the surface, call now!
